WENANA Solar Wind Chime, Purple Butterfly

A fence, porch, or patio can use a small accent that looks different after dark. This purple butterfly solar wind chime pairs hanging decor with color-changing lights.

Its appeal is visual rather than technical: the listing describes lights that shift through yellow, green, orange, purple, red, and blue.

It can hang outdoors or indoors, but the solar lighting depends on direct sunshine during the day. That makes placement an important part of the decision.

Technical details

The chime is described as lightweight, rainproof, and moisture-resistant, with a design intended for indoor or outdoor display. Its solar-powered lights change color at night, with yellow, green, orange, purple, red, and blue listed. The product description does not specify dimensions, materials, charging time, or how long the lights stay on, so those details are not available for planning a precise fit or lighting schedule.

The practical limitation is the solar setup: the switch needs to be turned on, and the unit needs direct sunlight to charge. Because no charging-time or runtime figure is provided, you can’t estimate how long the display will last without that measurement. If reliable, scheduled illumination matters more than a decorative accent, a plug-in light would be a different approach to consider.

Getting the most from it

Choose a hanging spot that gets direct sunshine and gives the chime room to hang freely. A sunny fence or porch can provide a daytime charging location and a visible nighttime accent. For an indoor display, keep in mind that the solar charging instructions call for direct sunshine, an indoor spot away from sunlight may not support the light feature as intended.

The listing mentions fences, courtyards, windows, doors, front porches, patios, backyards, and bedrooms. Those are possible placement ideas, not a guarantee that every location will receive enough sun. A solid pick if you want a butterfly-themed accent that shifts from a daytime hanging decoration to multicolor lighting after dark.

Usage tips

Turn the solar charging switch to “ON” before hanging the chime. Place it where direct sunshine can reach it, then let the color-changing lights serve as a decorative touch after dark. For example, hanging it near a sunny porch entrance can add a visible pop of color when you come home in the evening, without needing to treat it as the main source of outdoor lighting.

The rain- and moisture-resistant description supports outdoor use, but it does not provide a rating or specify exposure limits. You may want to skip it if you need exact weather-performance details, a stated lighting duration, or illumination that does not depend on sunlight.

Before you decide

How do you turn on the solar feature? Set the charging switch to “ON” before use. The description says it charges in direct sunshine and lights up at night.

What colors are listed? The lights are described as changing among yellow, green, orange, purple, red, and blue.

Can it be hung indoors? Yes, indoor display is mentioned, including bedrooms and windows. However, the solar charging instructions rely on direct sunshine, so the chosen spot matters if you want the lights to work as described.

When it makes sense

Choose this WENANA chime when the priority is a hanging butterfly decoration with multicolor solar lighting, and you have a sunny place for it to charge. It suits a porch, fence, or garden area where a decorative accent is more important than measured brightness or a guaranteed lighting schedule. If your space is shaded or you need dependable illumination for a specific number of hours, a non-solar light with stated performance details is the more suitable route.
