ASTARIN Wind Chimes 45-Inch

If you want a subtle accent for a small space, a compact chime may be easier to place, this ASTARIN set is designed for a more noticeable presence and a deeper sound. It measures 45 inches overall and uses six aluminum tubes tuned to a pentatonic scale. That combination points to a hanging piece meant to add both visual interest and resonant tones to a porch, patio, balcony, or garden. Its size is also part of the trade-off: you’ll need a spot with enough room for it to hang and move freely.

Technical details

The chime has six aluminum tubes, with the longest measuring 22.2 inches and a diameter of 1.2 inches. The tubes are described as hand-tuned to a pentatonic scale, which is intended to produce harmonious notes rather than a random clatter. A high-density striker and heavy-duty nylon cording are included, the tubes, top, hook, and pendulum are described as aluminum. The finish is anodized and weather-resistant, and the maker presents the chime as suitable for everyday outdoor conditions.

The product listing does not give a weight or a wind threshold. That leaves a practical question for exposed locations: how much movement or clearance the chime needs there is hard to judge without that measurement. Its 45-inch overall length is the clearest placement detail to plan around.

Getting the most from it

This is primarily outdoor hanging decor, not a compact accent designed to disappear into the background. A porch or garden spot with open space below the hook gives the tubes and pendulum room to move. Picture it beside a patio seating area, where a passing breeze can set the tubes ringing while the reflective finish catches daylight. The listing also positions it as a memorial or sympathy gift, so its sound and presence may carry meaning beyond decoration.

It suits you if you want a large-format chime with a deeper tone and a remembrance-oriented gift option. It might not be a great match if you need a small, unobtrusive piece or want a listed weight and specific wind-performance rating before choosing a hanging location. Compared with a basic lightweight chime, this one emphasizes long tubes, a lower sound, and a more substantial visual presence, someone prioritizing easy placement in a tight area may prefer a smaller format instead.

Usage tips

Choose a sturdy hanging point with enough vertical and side clearance for the chime to move without striking a wall, railing, or nearby furniture. The overall length gives you a useful starting point for checking the space, while the longest tube measures 22.2 inches. If you’re giving it as a memorial gift, consider whether the recipient has a suitable outdoor place to display it, the product is intended for hanging and sound, rather than for a tabletop display. The adjustable bell length is mentioned as a way to produce different scales, though the listing does not explain the adjustment process in detail.

Practical doubts

What kind of sound is it designed to make? The six tubes are tuned to a pentatonic scale, and the listing describes the result as a deep, warm tone.

Can it be used outdoors? It is described as weather-resistant and intended for patios, porches, balconies, backyards, and gardens. No specific exposure rating is provided.

Is it intended as a sympathy gift? Yes. The listing presents it as a memorial and remembrance gift for family or friends, as well as outdoor decor.

Final verdict

The ASTARIN makes the most sense when you want a large chime that can serve as both garden decor and a thoughtful remembrance piece. Its six tuned aluminum tubes and 45-inch length give it a more prominent profile than a small decorative bell, but that same size calls for a suitable hanging location. Choose it for a deep-toned, visible outdoor accent, skip it if compact dimensions or clearly specified wind limits are essential to your decision.
