TUG Original Retractable Dog Leash, 16 ft, Large White, 360° Tangle-Free

Some walks call for keeping a dog close, others benefit from extra room to explore. The TUG Original Retractable Dog Leash offers 16 ft of tape for walks where adjustable distance is useful.

The Large size is designed for dogs under 110 lbs. Its white nylon tape, ergonomic anti-slip handle, and thumb-operated quick lock make it practical to guide and manage during everyday walks.

If you prefer an adjustable lead over a fixed-length option, the retractable format gives you a simple way to change the available distance as you walk.

At a glance

The 16 ft tape moves in 360° to help prevent tangling as your dog changes direction. An easy-adjust retraction feature lets the tape roll in and out, while the quick lock and unlock control is operated with your thumb. Together, these features support straightforward leash handling while keeping the controls close at hand.

The handle has an ergonomic shape and an anti-slip grip for comfort on longer walks. The Large, White version is intended for dogs under 110 lbs, and the leash itself is made with nylon tape. Its retractable design can suit a neighborhood walk where your dog needs some room to move, with a quick lock available when you want to manage the distance more closely.

Buyers often describe the leash as easy to use, sturdy, and smooth in operation. Feedback on durability, locking, and retraction is mixed: some report reliable everyday function, while others describe breakage or issues with the lock or tape retracting. These are individual experiences rather than a guarantee of how a particular leash will perform.

Everyday use

For a walk around the block, the 16 ft reach allows a dog to explore while the handler keeps the leash controls in hand. The thumb-operated lock and unlock are useful when you need to adjust the available length during the walk, and the 360° tape movement is designed to accommodate turns without tangling. The anti-slip handle provides a secure-feeling grip for routine handling.

The Large size is intended for dogs under 110 lbs, so choose the size according to your dog’s weight. The leash is not suitable for chewing. TUG also describes the Large leash as potentially larger than expected, reviewing the listed dimensions before purchase can help set expectations for its size.

Practical tips

Use the quick lock to manage the tape as your walking situation changes, and keep the leash in hand while your dog is attached. This retractable format is useful when you want variable distance rather than a set-length lead. For a dog that chews leash material, choose a leash suited to that behavior instead, since this model is not designed for chewing.

TUG Pet Products provides a one-year warranty. It excludes damage from chewing or biting, normal wear and tear, and misuse or abuse. Keeping that coverage in mind helps clarify what the warranty is intended to address.

Should you buy it?

Choose this TUG leash if you want a 16 ft retractable lead with a thumb-operated lock, 360° tape movement, and an anti-slip handle for everyday dog walks. Its Large size is specified for dogs under 110 lbs, making it a practical choice when adjustable walking distance is the priority. For handlers who value changing the leash length as they go, the combination of retractable tape and accessible controls is the key reason to consider it.
