Compatible HP Black Toner Cartridge 312A
Product description
When an office printer needs black toner for everyday documents, a replacement should match the printer model and make its page-yield claim easy to assess. This compatible 312A cartridge is listed for the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476dn, M476dw, and M476nw. The listing states a yield of up to 2,700 pages, which may help estimate how often you’ll need a replacement, though it isn’t a guaranteed result. One detail deserves attention before ordering: the product name says two-pack, while the package description specifies one cartridge and an installation guide.
Best use cases
This cartridge is intended for owners of the listed M476 printers who need black toner for routine work such as forms, letters, and other text-heavy documents. For example, if you’re printing a stack of office paperwork on an M476dn, the stated yield gives you a rough planning figure rather than a promise of exactly how many pages you’ll get. Actual output depends on what you print, the description doesn’t provide a coverage basis for the 2,700-page estimate, so direct comparisons with other cartridges are limited without that measurement.
Worth considering if you want a compatible replacement for one of the named printers and prefer a stated page-yield estimate. It may not suit you if you need a confirmed pack quantity or a yield guarantee: the available package details don’t agree on the number of cartridges, and the yield is listed as “up to” 2,700 pages.

The listing says the cartridge has a smart chip intended to help the printer recognize it quickly. That describes the stated feature, not a guarantee that every setup will recognize it without issue. The description also cites ISO9001 and ISO14001, but doesn’t provide further detail about the certification scope.
Where it shines
The clearest advantage is the combination of named printer compatibility and a page-yield figure, which gives buyers more to compare than a cartridge listing with no yield stated. The smart-chip design is also presented as a convenience for printer recognition. Still, compatibility is specific: this isn’t described as a universal toner cartridge, so the M476 model number on your printer matters.
The alternative is to choose a cartridge from a different supply approach, such as one where the pack quantity or yield is stated more consistently. That may make more sense if you’re stocking several replacements or comparing cost per cartridge. If you only need a compatible option for a listed M476 printer, this listing’s model references are useful—but would the conflicting quantity details work for your order? Check that point before relying on the two-pack wording.
Buying verdict
This is a plausible replacement to consider for an M476dn, M476dw, or M476nw when black toner is the immediate need and the stated yield is useful for planning. The main drawback isn’t a missing feature claim, it’s the mismatch between the two-pack product name and the one-cartridge package description. Confirm the quantity with the seller before choosing, especially if you need more than one cartridge. If the listing is clarified as a single cartridge and that’s what you want, its stated compatibility and up-to-2,700-page yield give you a reasonable basis for comparison, if a confirmed multi-cartridge pack is essential, choose an option with matching package details.
