Tail Stories TSUS250623BWMD Orthopedic Dog Bed, Waterproof 1680D Cover

Some pets need a bed that fits inside a crate, others need a washable resting spot that can move between rooms or go outdoors. The Tail Stories TSUS250623BWMD is a rectangular mat made for small dogs and cats, with egg-crate foam and a removable Oxford cover. Its listed dimensions are 29 x 18 x 3 inches, and it is described as fitting standard 30 x 19-inch crates.

The water-resistant cover and portability features suit everyday use, while the foam care instructions matter if you expect to wash the whole bed rather than just its cover.

Tips for day-to-day use

For a crate setup, compare the bed’s 29 x 18-inch footprint with the space inside your crate, the listing says it fits standard 30 x 19-inch crates. At home, the side handles make it easier to move between rooms, and the same mat can serve as a resting place outdoors or during travel. It is vacuum-packed, so allow 24 hours for the foam to expand before use.

For routine care, the cover can be removed and machine washed. The waterproof layer is intended to help protect against spills and accidents, and the surface can be wiped for everyday cleanup. One important distinction: the foam insert is not machine washable and should only be spot cleaned. That makes the removable cover useful, but it is not a bed you can put entirely through a wash cycle.

Benefits

The main appeal is the combination of a defined crate-friendly size, 3-inch egg-crate foam, and a cover designed for easier cleanup. The contoured foam is described as providing orthopedic support by distributing weight, which may suit owners looking for more than a basic flat mat. The listing also specifies a TPU waterproof layer beneath the 1680D Oxford fabric, plus reinforced side handles for carrying.

Buyers often appreciate that the cover is easy to wipe down and clean. Feedback is less consistent about water resistance, thickness, and softness: some find the bed protective and adequately padded, while others say it did not feel waterproof or cushioned enough for them. Reports of chewing resistance also vary, so the fabric should not be treated as chew-proof. A solid pick if you want a removable, machine-washable cover and a mat sized for a small-pet crate. Not the best choice if your pet regularly chews bedding or you need the foam itself to be machine washable.

Should you buy it?

Choose this bed if the dimensions suit your crate or floor space and you want portability, egg-crate foam, and a cover that can be removed for washing. Its use of a separate washable cover and spot-clean-only foam is a practical tradeoff compared with a bed designed to be washed as a complete unit. If dependable waterproofing, plush cushioning, or resistance to chewing is essential, the mixed buyer feedback makes those priorities worth weighing carefully before choosing this mat.
