SHIDU Voice Amplifier 40W

The 40W rating and wireless headset put voice projection at the center of this SHIDU amplifier, rather than treating it as just a portable music speaker.

An adjustable headset microphone keeps your hands free while you teach, lead a tour, or speak to a group.

It also accepts several audio sources, so it can serve for music as well as speech.

Technical details

The amplifier has a 4400mAh rechargeable battery and an IPX5 rating. SHIDU describes the rating as protection against gentle sprays and splashes, it should not be read as permission to submerge the unit. A waist or neck band is included for carrying it hands-free, and the headset’s flexible gooseneck lets you adjust the microphone’s position near your mouth.

The listed connections and formats are Bluetooth, USB, TF card, 3.5mm AUX, and guitar input. That range is useful if you want one speaker for spoken instruction and occasional music or instrument input. The product name also specifies dual microphones, though the available details do not explain how the two microphones work together.

SHIDU claims the amplifier can serve audiences of more than 250 people and cover 22,000 square feet. Treat those figures as the manufacturer’s stated capacity, not a guarantee for every room: layout, background noise, and how the speaker is positioned can affect what listeners hear. On the spec sheet, this is aimed at large spaces, but there are no further sound measurements here to compare.

Compatibility

The source options make it adaptable to different setups: use Bluetooth for a compatible wireless audio source, or choose USB, TF card, or the 3.5mm AUX input. A guitar input is listed as well. The headset microphone is wireless, while the speaker also supports wired audio connections, the description does not specify device-by-device compatibility or the exact cable requirements.

That flexibility is handy in a classroom where you might switch from speaking to playing audio, or at a training session where there is no need to set up a separate music speaker. If your setup depends on a particular phone, computer, or instrument connection, check that its output matches one of the listed options before choosing it.

Usage tips

For a lesson or presentation, wear the adjustable band and position the headset mic close to your mouth without letting it obstruct your movement. Keep the speaker where it can project into the room rather than tucked behind furniture. For example, a tour leader could wear the headset while walking a group, then use Bluetooth or a card source for audio without swapping to a separate speaker.

The splash protection may be useful around light spray, but it is not a substitute for a purpose-built waterproof speaker for swimming or immersion. The product is portable and offers a carrying band, though its weight and dimensions are not provided, so there is no basis to judge how comfortable it will be for long periods of carrying.

Practical doubts

Can it amplify speech without holding a microphone? Yes. The description includes an adjustable wireless headset microphone, designed to leave your hands free.

Can it play music as well as amplify a voice? The listed Bluetooth, USB, TF card, and AUX options support audio sources, and SHIDU describes music playback as one of its uses.

Is it suitable for outdoor use? It is presented for activities such as tours and outdoor use, and its IPX5 rating covers gentle sprays and splashes. That does not establish protection against submersion or every weather condition.

When it makes sense

A solid pick if you need a wearable mic and speaker in one unit for teaching, presentations, tours, or similar group speaking, and you’ll use its audio inputs too. Compared with a basic handheld megaphone, the headset and playback options offer a more hands-free setup. It might not be a great match if you need verified coverage for a specific venue, detailed device compatibility, or a speaker intended to be submerged, those details aren’t established here.
