ramco EDR4RXD1/UKF8001 Refrigerator Water Filter Replacement, Coconut-Shell Carbon

When your refrigerator’s water filter is due for replacement, the ramco EDR4RXD1/UKF8001 cartridge provides a compatible option for select refrigerator models. Its coconut-shell activated carbon filtration is designed to reduce chlorine, heavy metals, and odors, including VOCs, THMs, and chromium, helping address common impurities in water dispensed from the fridge.

A layered 0.5-micron filtration process also targets rust and sediment while retaining essential minerals. The filter is listed for models including WRF535SWHV, WRF535SWHZ, WRF555SDHV, WRX735SDBM, WRX735SDHZ, and KRFC300ESS, match your refrigerator’s model to the compatibility information before choosing a replacement.

Key takeaways

This replacement uses activated carbon made from Sri Lankan coconut shells. The manufacturer describes the carbon as having increased micropores and adsorption area compared with ordinary charcoal, and pairs it with 0.5-micron layered filtration. In everyday use, those features are intended to reduce chlorine and odors as well as intercept rust and sediment, while retaining essential minerals.

The product states NSF 42 and NSF 372 testing and certification. NSF 42 relates to reducing aesthetic impurities, while NSF 372 addresses lead content in materials. For shoppers comparing replacement cartridges, this is a refrigerator-filter approach: it replaces the existing compatible cartridge rather than adding a separate countertop water-filter system.

Getting the most from it

Use the compatibility list to match the cartridge to your refrigerator, then follow the appliance’s filter-replacement instructions. The recommended replacement interval is every six months or 300 gallons, depending on water quality. An included month sticker lets you mark the installation date, making it easier to keep track of the next change and maintain a regular replacement routine.

The stated filtration benefits make this cartridge relevant for households that use their refrigerator dispenser for drinking water or ice and want to address chlorine taste and odor, along with certain listed impurities. Its compact cartridge format is intended for compatible refrigerator filter compartments, keeping the filtration integrated into the appliance rather than requiring a separate pitcher on the counter.

How to use it

First, check the refrigerator model against the product’s compatibility information. The listed filter references include EDR4RXD1, UKF8001, 4396395, and several related replacements, refrigerator examples include WRF535SWHZ and WRX735SDHZ. Once you have matched the fit, install the cartridge according to your refrigerator manufacturer’s instructions. Mark the month on the included sticker and use the six-month or 300-gallon guidance, adjusting for water quality.

For a practical routine, note the installation month when you change the filter, then use the dispenser as usual. That simple reminder helps keep replacement timing visible, especially in a busy kitchen where several people use the refrigerator’s water and ice features.
