PETIMBER 1773 Telescoping Dog Ramp, 19–73-Inch Aluminum, 250 lb Capacity
Product description
Loading a dog into an SUV or truck is easier when there’s a gradual path from the ground to the vehicle. The PETIMBER 1773 telescoping ramp extends from 19 to 73 inches, so you can adjust its length to suit the setup and create a gentler incline than a shorter ramp. Its aluminum frame and folding design make it practical to carry and store between outings.
The same ramp can also help dogs reach porches, couches, RVs, camper steps, and trailers. Where a portable, adjustable ramp offers more flexibility than fixed pet stairs, would that fit your routine better?
Key features
The adjustable length is the standout feature: extend the ramp for a longer approach or retract it for compact storage. This can be especially useful when moving between different vehicles or access points. Its aluminum frame keeps the ramp portable, while the built-in handle makes it easier to carry from storage to the car.
The walking surface combines aluminum mesh with a thick felt coating for grip. Reflective lines along the sides add visibility in low light, and smooth-glide rails support extension and retraction. Two locking latches serve different purposes: one helps prevent wobbling during use, while the other keeps the ramp closed for storage. The stated load capacity is up to 250 pounds.
Who it’s for
This ramp is designed for large dogs and can be useful for senior dogs or dogs that benefit from a less steep climb. The longer extension gives you the option of a gradual approach to a vehicle, while the portable format also works for everyday access around the home. Choose it when you want one adjustable ramp for car trips and other elevated entry points, rather than a fixed set of steps for just one location.
Tips for day-to-day use
Extend the ramp to a length that provides a comfortable incline for the height you’re using, then engage the use latch before your dog walks on it. Set the ends securely against the approach and the surface your dog is climbing to. Guide your dog at a calm pace, particularly when first introducing the ramp, and keep the walking surface clear for each use.
Afterward, retract the ramp and use the storage latch to keep it closed. The folding design and carry handle make it convenient to keep in a vehicle or store at home, ready for the next trip or change of location. Reflective side lines can help make the ramp easier to see when loading in low light.
