MAYPLUSS Gift Wrapping Paper Roll, 17 Inch x 16.5 Feet

For a kid’s birthday or a graduation gift, wrapping can set the mood before the box is opened. The MAYPLUSS roll pairs a blue-and-white checkered flag look with a reversible design featuring skateboarders and car racing, so it offers more visual variety than a single-print sheet. Its 17-inch width and 16.5-foot length are suited to everyday gift boxes, and the listing estimates enough paper for about 19 shirt-sized boxes. Without having tried it, the most practical things to weigh are the stated tear resistance, opaque thickness, and whether the sporty designs fit the person you’re wrapping for.

Getting the most from it

This paper makes the most sense for gifts where the wrapping is part of the fun: a birthday present for a young racing fan, a graduation gift with a playful look, or a package for a baby shower where cars and skateboards feel appropriate. Lay out the paper before cutting so you can choose which side of the reversible design faces out, that also helps you decide whether to keep a group of gifts coordinated or mix up the look. The roll format is useful when you have several boxes to wrap, rather than just one small present that could be covered with a gift bag.

The stated tear-resistant construction should be helpful when folding corners and pulling the paper snug around a box. Its thicker, opaque paper is also intended to keep the design underneath from showing through. Still, the roll is 17 inches wide, so a broad or unusually shaped package may take more planning or require a different wrapping approach. If you’re wrapping a stack of standard shirt-sized boxes, the listing’s estimate of about 19 gives a rough sense of coverage, not a guarantee for boxes of every size.

Why it’s worth it

The main appeal is the combination of a checkered flag print and a reversible skateboard-and-racing theme. That gives you a choice of looks within one roll, instead of buying a single-pattern paper for each gift. You’ll appreciate it if the recipient likes a lively, motorsports-inspired style and you want the wrapping to feel more personal than plain solid-color paper. The blue palette and graphic theme are distinctly casual, though, so they may not suit someone looking for understated, formal, or traditional holiday wrapping.

If you prioritize a themed presentation for a child’s celebration, this design has a clear purpose, if you prefer neutral paper that works for almost any recipient or occasion, a simple all-purpose roll is the safer fit. The product details also describe the paper as thick enough to prevent the print on one side from showing through, a useful point when a gift has a contrasting surface or color. That is a construction claim, not a reason to expect the roll to handle every awkward shape without careful folding.

Key takeaways

• Reversible blue-and-white checkered flag, skateboarder, and car-racing designs.
• Roll measures 17 inches by 16.5 feet, the listing estimates about 19 shirt-sized boxes.
• Described as tear-resistant and thick enough to keep the other side’s design from showing through.
• Its sporty, kid-focused look is less versatile than plain or understated wrapping paper.

For a quick practical example, you could wrap a rectangular birthday box with the checkered side showing, then use the skateboard design on a second gift to keep the pair related without making them identical. The roll format supports that kind of coordinated presentation, but the width may be limiting for especially large packages.

Buying verdict

This MAYPLUSS wrapping paper is worth considering when the recipient’s interests match the racing or skateboard theme and you want two related designs in one roll. It offers a more playful alternative to generic paper, with the added benefit of a stated opaque, tear-resistant construction. Better avoided if you need a neutral design, are wrapping oversized gifts, or want a paper style that transitions easily from a child’s party to a formal occasion. For the right celebration, the theme does the decorating work, for broader use, a less specific print may be more practical.
