Compatibility
The M5 is designed to clip onto laptops from 13 to 17.3 inches and is listed as compatible with Windows, macOS, Android, Chrome OS, and Linux. It can also connect with desktop computers, smartphones, set-top boxes, and Switch consoles, so it can serve as an additional screen across different setups.
For a one-cable connection, the device needs a full-function USB-C port. With a device that uses HDMI, connect the included HDMI-to-Mini-HDMI cable and USB-A-to-USB-C cable, HDMI setups may need a separate power source. These connection options make it easier to choose a setup that matches the ports available on your device.
Getting the most from it
Use extended mode to keep a document, reference page, or chat visible beside your main work, reducing the need to switch between windows. Mirror mode displays the same content on both screens, while portrait orientation gives long pages a taller viewing area. Brightness, contrast, and volume can be adjusted with the monitor’s physical buttons.
The rotating bracket and adjustable tilt let you position the screen when it is clipped to a laptop. For a desk setup, detach the display and use its stand as a separate second screen. The foldable design, 0.27-inch-thin panel, and 2.8 lb weight make it practical to pack for commuting, business travel, or a temporary remote-work space. Compared with relying on one laptop display, this setup gives you a dedicated place for supporting content while keeping your main screen focused on the task at hand.
Questions before you buy
Can the screen be used without clipping it to a laptop? Yes. Detach the display and set it up separately with the included stand for use as a standalone secondary monitor.
Can you change the screen’s orientation? Yes. The display supports landscape and portrait positioning, and its rotating bracket lets you adjust its placement for the setup and content.
What cables and accessories are included? The package includes USB-C-to-USB-C, USB-A-to-USB-C, and HDMI-to-Mini-HDMI cables, along with the detachable screen stand.
Should you buy it?
