Koonmi K-GlassMat 3646-4MM Tempered Glass Chair Mat, 36" x 46

A clear tempered-glass surface gives an office chair a firm rolling area while keeping the carpet visible. This Koonmi mat measures 36" x 46" and has rounded corners and polished edges. If you want a hard, transparent surface instead of a flexible plastic mat, it offers a different approach to protecting the floor beneath a rolling chair.

Pros

The main appeal is the combination of carpet protection and a smooth surface for chair movement. The transparent finish lets the carpet show through, so the mat is less visually opaque than a solid-colored option. Rounded corners and polished edges are designed to help avoid damage to the carpet and floor, and a detachable anti-slip pad is included to help hold the mat in place.

Buyer feedback often highlights how easily chairs roll across the glass and how the clear surface looks in a workspace. Some customers also say it stays in place, though reports on stability are mixed: others find they have to move it back into position. Opinions on its weight differ as well. Those points matter if you expect to reposition the mat often or want a surface that never shifts.

Key features

The mat is made of tempered glass and measures 46" long by 36" wide, with a listed thickness of 0.16". Its maximum listed weight capacity is 1,000 pounds. It is intended for carpet and hard-floor surfaces, making it relevant for a home office, bedroom, or study where a rolling chair could otherwise wear on the floor covering.

Compared with a conventional plastic chair mat, the glass construction is the defining distinction. The product description presents it as resistant to scratching, cracking, curling, and discoloration over time, those are stated product claims, not a guarantee of how it will perform in every setup. The included component is the glass mat, and the anti-slip pad is described as detachable.

Who it’s for

You’ll appreciate it if you want to protect carpet while keeping its pattern visible, or if you prefer a firm rolling surface to a flexible plastic mat. It may also suit a desk area on a hard floor, where the same mat is intended to help protect the surface from chair-related scratches. For example, in a study room, it can sit under a desk chair to create a defined area for rolling without covering the whole room.

It's not for you if your available floor space cannot accommodate a 36" x 46" mat. The listed dimensions are useful to compare with the chair’s working area before choosing, the product details do not specify a smaller version in this listing.

What to clarify

Can it be used on carpet and hard floors? The listed surface recommendation includes both. Its description specifically emphasizes carpet protection, while also mentioning protection for wooden or marble floors.

Does it stay in place? A detachable anti-slip pad is included to help secure the mat. Buyer feedback is mixed, however, with some saying it stays put and others reporting that it can slide over time.

What is included? The listed included component is one glass mat. The product description also identifies a detachable anti-slip pad.

Should you buy it?

Choose the K-GlassMat 3646-4MM if a clear tempered-glass chair mat in this size fits your workspace and you want a firm alternative to plastic for carpet or a hard floor. Its transparent finish, smooth rolling surface, and stated 1,000-pound capacity are relevant advantages for a desk-chair area. If repositioning and consistent stability are priorities, weigh the mixed reports about movement before deciding.
