Hrensaw HC001 Outdoor Electrical Box, IP54, 8 Cable Ports, Black

If you need to protect several outdoor cord connections, the Hrensaw HC001 gives plugs, timers, and extension cords an enclosed space. Its roomy black polypropylene housing has eight cable ports and an IP54 rating. Use it for seasonal lighting, garden tools, or other power connections that need weather protection. Compared with a small single-cord cover, this larger box accommodates multiple connections in one place.

Getting the most from it

Place the connected plugs, timer, or power strip inside the box, then route the cords through the cable ports. Eight clamps and rubber gaskets help hold and seal the cable entries, while four snap closures secure the lid. The design supports 16–10 AWG cords and works with straight plugs, right-angle plugs, and bulky adapters, making it useful when a simple cover does not leave enough room for the connection setup.

For seasonal displays, the enclosure can house a timer and the cords serving holiday lights. For a garden or landscape setup, it can protect connections for power tools, cameras, fountains, or pool pumps. Its 12.5 x 8.5 x 5-inch dimensions provide space for multiple plugs and cords, so it suits setups where connections need to be grouped rather than covered one at a time.

What you’ll notice day to day

The polypropylene enclosure is designed for outdoor use and carries an IP54 rating. Its sealing components help shield enclosed connections from rain, snow, dust, and dirt. That makes the box a practical option for exposed areas where weather can reach cord connections, such as a yard, patio, or seasonal lighting installation. It can also be used indoors when a larger enclosure for wire connections is useful.

Two mounting holes on the bottom allow the box to be mounted on a wall. The lid’s glow-in-the-dark warning labels are intended to make the enclosure more visible at night. Together, the mounting points and multiple cable entries give you a way to position the box near the equipment it serves while keeping the cords routed through the enclosure.

Worth noting

The box combines a relatively spacious interior with several cable-entry points, so it is suited to grouped connections rather than a compact, single-plug setup. Buyers often highlight the capacity for multiple plugs, cords, and timers, as well as its weather protection. Feedback on its size is mixed: some appreciate the extra room, while others would prefer a more compact cover. Experiences with latch durability also vary, so handle the snap closures with care when opening and closing the lid.

Is it worth it?

For outdoor setups with several plugs, a timer, or bulky adapters, the HC001 offers more room than a simple cord cover and brings those connections together in an IP54-rated enclosure. Its eight cable ports, sealing components, and wall-mounting points make it a practical choice for garden equipment, landscape features, or holiday lighting that needs an organized, weather-protective housing.
