HOPYANE hop1122 Adjustable Magnetic Air & Heat Deflectors, 9–15.5-Inch, 2-Pack

Specifications

If air from a vent blows directly onto a bed, desk, chair, or sofa, redirecting the stream can make the room more comfortable without moving the furniture. These adjustable deflectors guide cool or warm air away from the immediate seating or sleeping area. Choose them for a flexible airflow adjustment, a fixed vent cover is a simpler alternative when you do not need to change the direction or width of the deflection.

• Type: Adjustable magnetic air and heat deflectors
• Adjustment range: 9–15.5 inches
• Material: Clear polycarbonate
• Thickness: 0.098 inches (2.5 mm)
• Mounting: Magnets for compatible metal vents, pre-drilled holes for screw mounting on wooden vents
• Pack: 2 deflectors

Usage tips

Extend or retract each deflector to suit the vent, then position it to send airflow into the room rather than straight toward the spot where you sit or sleep. That can be useful when a floor register is beneath a bed or chair, or when a wall or ceiling vent blows toward a desk. The adjustable span lets you tailor the placement instead of relocating furniture or changing the vent opening.

The magnets are supplied for direct mounting on compatible metal vents. Aluminum and plastic vents are not suitable for this magnetic setup, and vents longer than 16 inches are not recommended. For wooden vents, the deflector’s pre-drilled holes can be used for screw mounting, screws are not included. For magnetic mounting, make sure the magnetic surfaces are in full contact with the vent.

Buyers commonly praise the straightforward installation and the way the deflectors redirect airflow. Feedback on magnetic hold and durability is mixed, so careful positioning and secure contact matter, particularly for ceiling placement.

How to use it

Adjust the length, orient the deflector in the direction you want the air to travel, and secure it to the register using the appropriate mounting method. For a practical example, a ceiling vent aimed at a bed can be redirected so the airflow is sent farther into the room. The same approach can help keep air from blowing directly onto a desk or nearby houseplants.

Questions before you buy

Can the deflector be adjusted to different vent widths? Yes. It extends and retracts from 9 to 15.5 inches, allowing you to set its span for the intended placement.

Does it work with a wooden vent? It can be screw-mounted to wooden vents through its pre-drilled holes. Screws are not included.

Can it attach to any metal vent with magnets? It is designed for magnetic mounting on compatible metal vents, but not aluminum vents. Ensure the magnetic surfaces sit in full contact for a secure fit.

Is it worth it?

For a room where a register sends air toward a bed, chair, or work area, these HOPYANE deflectors offer an adjustable way to redirect the flow while keeping the vent in place. Their clear polycarbonate construction, adjustable 9–15.5-inch span, and two-piece pack suit households that want to address more than one airflow spot or adjust the direction of air at separate registers.
