Hearvo S7240PH2 Dual-Monitor KVM Switch, HDMI 2.1, DP 1.4, 8K

The aluminum Hearvo KVM switch measures 5.1 x 2.4 x 1.1 inches, giving it a compact footprint for a desk or workstation.

It connects two computers to two monitors and lets them share a mouse, keyboard, and other USB devices. HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 connections support a mixed-display setup.

Use the switch’s button or wired remote to change computers. That gives you a choice between keeping the switch within reach or placing the remote where it’s easier to access.

Best use cases

This KVM switch is designed for a workspace where two computers need access to the same monitors and USB peripherals. For example, you can keep a desktop and a laptop connected to the workstation and switch between them instead of moving a keyboard, mouse, or other USB device from one system to the other. The four USB 3.0 ports provide connections for shared peripherals such as a printer, scanner, flash drive, or headset.

The wired remote is useful when the switch itself sits out of the way: place the controller on the desk and change computers with a button press. Or use the built-in button for direct switching. Customers often praise the straightforward setup and remote control, while feedback on compatibility and switching response is mixed. For a setup involving a MacBook, check the connection requirements of the specific computer and displays before organizing the workstation around the switch.

Strengths

The main advantage is combining display switching and USB sharing in one device. HDMI and DisplayPort are both supported, so the switch can work with equipment that uses either interface without relying on an additional video adapter for that connection type. It supports resolutions up to 8K at 60Hz and is also listed as compatible with 4K at 144Hz, 4K at 120Hz, and 1080p at 240Hz. For 8K at 60Hz, use HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 1.4 cables, as specified for that mode.

Adaptive EDID helps match display parameters to connected equipment, and HDCP 2.3 support is included. The four USB 3.0 ports offer data transfer up to 5Gbps, making the switch useful when shared devices include storage or other USB accessories as well as input devices. A driver-free, plug-and-play setup keeps installation simple: connect the computers, monitors, and USB devices, then select the system you want to use.
