HEAPETS Feeder BK Automatic Cat Feeder, RFID Access, Sealed Lid, 0.45 L

Tech specs

For households that need to keep one pet out of another’s food, the HEAPETS Feeder BK uses an RFID collar tag to control access to a covered feeding bowl. It’s designed for cats and small dogs, making it useful when pets share a home but follow different feeding routines or diets.

A shared bowl suits pets that eat the same food. This feeder takes a more selective approach: its lid opens for the paired collar tag and closes after the pet leaves, helping keep each meal for its intended diner.

Compatibility

The feeder is designed for cats and small dogs. Its included RFID collar tag identifies the paired pet, the lid opens as that pet approaches and closes 10 seconds after it leaves. Each feeder pairs with one collar tag, and RFID microchip recognition is not supported. If a pet without the paired tag approaches, the feeder is designed to retract the bowl to discourage food stealing.

This setup is especially relevant when pets need different food, including prescription diets. Keep wet food in the bowl only for mealtimes rather than leaving it inside for extended periods. The sealed lid helps keep dry kibble crunchy and helps prevent wet food from drying out between meals.

Getting the most from it

The feeder comes with a pre-paired RFID tag and a three-button interface, including a manual switch for initial training. Introduce the feeder as part of your pet’s normal mealtime routine so the tagged pet can get used to approaching the bowl and lid. The motorized lid is designed to move smoothly and quietly, with soft silicone edges and automatic sensing.

For cleanup, remove the inner bowl and hand-wash it after serving wet or dry food. The smooth ABS and melamine surfaces are designed to reduce food residue buildup, helping make routine cleaning straightforward.

Customers often highlight its everyday function and quiet operation. Feedback on suitability is mixed, so consider your pet’s feeding habits when choosing an automatic feeder. The key distinction here is selective access: it serves a different need than a basic open bowl shared by pets eating the same food.

Questions before you buy

Can the feeder recognize a pet’s implanted microchip? No. Access uses the included RFID collar tag, and the feeder does not support microchip recognition.

Can it be used for wet food? Yes. Its sealed lid is designed for wet and dry food, but wet food should not be left inside for extended periods.

How do you clean the food bowl? The inner bowl is removable and intended for hand-washing after meals.

Should you buy it?

Choose the HEAPETS Feeder BK when separate feeding matters more than simply setting out another open bowl. Its paired-tag access, covered design, and support for wet or dry meals make it a practical fit for multi-pet homes managing different diets. For a household where one pet needs prescription food or a protected portion, the RFID-controlled lid helps make mealtime more specific to that pet.
