The extended flame is useful when starting a fire with logs or charcoal, while the pouch serves as the wick: light its corner without opening it, then place it on the wood or charcoal. GOFIRE describes the starters as weatherproof, with ignition designed for conditions including rain, snow, cold, and wind. That makes them a practical choice for keeping a fire-starting option on hand outdoors as well as at home.

Unlike liquid fire starters that are poured onto fuel, this pouch-based format is lit at the corner and placed where the fire needs to start. The manufacturer describes the formula as non-toxic and food-safe, with virtually no smoke and no scent. It is intended for indoor and outdoor fires, including fireplaces, wood stoves, campfires, fire pits, and charcoal BBQs. Store the pouches away from flames and direct heat, and do not open them before lighting.

Who it’s for

These starters suit campers and hikers who want a portable way to start a fire, as well as households that regularly use a fireplace or wood stove. A 100-count pack also keeps starters available for repeated use around a fire pit or charcoal grill. For a camping trip, one can be placed with the wood or charcoal at the fire site, then lit at the pouch corner—no liquid needs to be poured over the fuel.

Buyers commonly highlight ease of use, effectiveness, and the burn time, with some also appreciating the portability for hiking and camping. Those impressions align with the product’s pouch-lighting method and stated burn time, while remaining individual customer experiences rather than a guarantee of results.
