GameSir X5s Bluetooth Phone Controller with Hall Effect Sticks and Triggers

The Bluetooth phone controller format lets you bring physical controls to mobile gaming and play on supported consoles. Hall Effect sticks and analog triggers add precise, smooth input for compatible games.

Its ergonomic design is made for handheld play, while Bluetooth connectivity supports compatible Android phones, iPhone, iPad mini, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Swappable ABXY buttons let you switch between Xbox and Nintendo layouts, so the controller can match the button arrangement you prefer.

Quick overview

The X5s combines Hall Effect sticks with Hall Effect analog triggers for smooth control, plus dual HD rumble motors for vibration feedback. On Switch devices, its six-axis gyroscope supports motion controls for aiming, racing, and action games. These features make it a versatile fit for moving between mobile play and supported Nintendo systems.

Buyer feedback is mixed. Some appreciate its responsiveness and compatibility across iOS and Android, while others mention input lag, left-trigger issues, or Bluetooth disconnections. Opinions on its compact size and fit also vary. Its feature set is especially relevant if you want physical controls for mobile games as well as a controller for supported Switch play.

Who it’s for

The X5s is for players who want to use a phone as a handheld gaming setup, or switch between compatible mobile devices and Nintendo Switch systems. Rather than relying on touchscreen controls, you can use physical sticks, triggers, and buttons for games that support controller input.

It also suits players who prefer to choose their button layout. The ABXY buttons can be swapped between Xbox and Switch arrangements, and the included button clip helps with the change. A remapping function is available through the M + A combination.

Best use cases

For mobile sessions, connect a compatible Android phone, iPhone, or iPad mini over Bluetooth. The supported device length is 105–213 mm, a useful fit range to check when choosing a phone or small tablet for handheld play. Games such as Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero are highlighted for the controller, while actual controls depend on each game’s support.

On Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, the six-axis gyro adds motion input for aiming or steering, while HD vibration provides feedback through the grips. This makes the X5s a practical alternative to touch-only play when you want physical controls, or to a conventional controller when you want to play with a compatible phone in a handheld setup.
