Fairy Baby W046White Extra-Wide Auto-Close Metal Safety Gate, 67–71.5 Inches

Some homes need a compact barrier for a standard doorway, wider openings call for a gate that can span more space while still offering a walk-through door. The Fairy Baby W046White adjusts to openings from 67 to 71.5 inches. Its pressure-mounted design and auto-close door make it practical for everyday use around children and pets.

Everyday use

Use the gate to create a boundary across a wide doorway, hallway, or other opening between rooms. The door swings in either direction, so adults can pass through from either side, and its 19.3-inch walk-through section helps keep access convenient while carrying a baby or household items. The double-lock latch is designed for adult, one-handed operation, while the dual-lock setup helps keep the gate secured against a child opening it.

After the door is opened to less than 90 degrees, it closes automatically. Leave it open at 90 degrees when you need a clear passage for a short time. That gives the gate two useful modes for a busy home: a self-closing barrier during regular traffic and an open doorway when access is needed.

What stands out

The adjustable width is the key advantage for wide spaces that a narrower gate cannot cover. Four spindle tension rods allow the top and bottom to be adjusted independently, helping the pressure-mounted frame fit an opening that is not perfectly even. Setup uses pressure against the walls rather than drilling, and the gate can be removed or repositioned as household needs change.

Its metal construction is suited to a home where the barrier needs to manage access for both children and pets. The vertical bars are spaced 2 inches apart, and the low-profile step pedal provides a lower threshold for everyday passage. For installation at the top of stairs, use the included hardware mount and wall cups rather than relying on pressure mounting alone.

Customer feedback often highlights the sturdy feel, fit across wide doorways, and straightforward everyday operation. Some buyers also report concerns about durability, including a bottom hinge breaking. These experiences are individual reports, not a guarantee of how the gate will perform in every home, regular checks of the latch and closing action are part of practical gate use.
