EduCuties EC22-5R Robot Toy, Programmable Remote and Gesture Control, Blue

Everyday use

At 10.6 inches tall, the blue EduCuties EC22-5R brings walking, dancing, singing, and talking robot play to an indoor floor. Kids can guide it with the infrared remote or use hand gestures to send it forward, backward, left, or right. Its illuminated blue eyes add a visual cue as it moves, while obstacle avoidance and patrol mode give play sessions more variety.

The robot offers hands-on ways to explore movement and simple programming. It can record and replay a sequence of up to 50 user-selected actions, so children can arrange moves such as turning, walking, patrolling, and dancing into a routine. For a playroom activity, they can build a sequence, start playback, and then change the moves to create a different performance.

What stands out

The two control options let kids choose between operating the robot with a handheld remote and steering it with gestures. That makes it more interactive than a figure that only performs a preset routine. The programmable action sequence adds another layer: children can decide the order of the moves and watch the robot replay their arrangement, supporting play focused on sequencing, problem-solving, and motor skills.

The ABS body has flexible multi-joint areas at the shoulders, elbows, and thumbs, and skating wheels at the base support its movement combinations. Since it is designed for indoor use on the floor, it suits a play area where there is room to guide the robot and watch its routines. Buyers often describe the toy as fun and easy to operate, and some highlight its usefulness for practicing remote-control skills. Feedback is more mixed on how consistently the functions work and how well charging holds up over time, so experiences vary.

Questions before you buy

Can kids control it without the remote? Yes. Hand gestures can direct it forward, backward, left, and right. The infrared remote provides another way to operate the robot.

Should you buy it?

Choose the EC22-5R for indoor play that goes beyond a single button-triggered dance. It’s a fitting pick for children who enjoy moving toys and want to create their own robot routines.
