DreamSky d233dbf9-b61c-49b8-9f45-85951a54dca0 Portable AM/FM/SW Radio with LCD Clock

A large analog tuning dial makes it easy to adjust stations without navigating menus. The LCD adds a backlit view of the tuned station and clock, which can help when checking the display in dim light.

This DreamSky radio receives AM, FM, and shortwave broadcasts. Use it with the included AC adapter indoors or take it along with four AA alkaline batteries, which are sold separately.

A built-in speaker, tone selection, and headphone jack cover different listening preferences. Its portable format suits everyday listening at home or while working outside, though the radio is not water resistant.

Best use cases

This model is geared toward straightforward radio listening rather than a menu-driven digital receiver. The large dial and separate volume control make station adjustment direct, while the LCD helps identify the selected station instead of relying on the dial alone. Its clock can display time in either 12- or 24-hour format.

At home, the included AC adapter lets you listen while cooking, reading, or doing chores without relying on batteries. For outings such as yard work or camping, battery operation removes the need to stay near an outlet. The four AA batteries are not included, so they need to be supplied separately for portable use. Since the radio is not water resistant, outdoor use is best kept to dry conditions.

Why it’s worth it

The combination of AM, FM, and shortwave reception gives listeners more band options than a basic AM/FM-only radio. The long antenna is intended to help with reception, and the high- and low-tone settings let you adjust the sound character. A 3.5mm headphone jack provides a way to listen privately, headphones are not listed among the included items.

Buyer feedback is positive about the sound, simple controls, portability, and display size. Reception reports are mixed: some buyers describe good results, while others say reception was poor. That variability makes it sensible to weigh the radio’s band selection and easy controls separately from any expectation of consistent reception in every location. It’s a great fit if you want a portable radio with a visible station display and both adapter and battery power options.

Buying verdict

This is a practical choice for listeners who want familiar dial controls, a readable display, and the flexibility to use an outlet at home or batteries away from one. It may not suit you if you need a water-resistant radio for wet outdoor conditions. If reception is the deciding factor, keep in mind that buyer experiences vary, the listed AM/FM/shortwave bands and long antenna do not guarantee the same results in every setting.
