Dog Crate Cover Set, 24-Inch

A bare wire crate offers visibility and airflow, but it can feel exposed. This set adds coverage and soft padding while leaving the front open.

It’s sized for a 24-inch wire crate and includes a cover, cushioned mat, and bumper. The setup is designed to make the crate feel more sheltered without closing off the entrance.

The tradeoff is that the open front won’t block light or distractions coming from that side. Fit also depends on matching the crate’s listed dimensions.

Key specifications

The set is designed for standard wire crates measuring 24" L x 18" W x 20" H. Its cover wraps over the top, back, and sides, while the front remains open for airflow and access. Wooden ties at the two front bottom corners help hold the cover in place.

Inside, a removable cushioned mat covers the crate floor, and a separate bumper pads the interior walls. The bumper fastens to the wire bars with eight wooden buttons. Both pieces can be removed individually, so you can lift out the mat or adjust the bumper without taking off the whole cover.

The cover has a waterproof inner lining, the mat and bumper have water-resistant finishes for light spills. All three pieces are machine washable and should be air-dried. The cover is also described as splash-proof for sheltered outdoor spots, such as a porch or balcony—not as a substitute for a fully weatherproof enclosure.

Who it’s for

This layout may suit a puppy getting used to a crate, a noise-sensitive dog, or a pet that seems more settled with less exposed wire around its resting space. The padding also softens contact with the metal bars. For a practical example, you can remove the mat for washing after a small accident while leaving the cover and bumper in place.

It suits you if you want a covered, padded crate setup but prefer to keep the doorway open. The breathable design is intended to avoid the enclosed feel of a cover that closes over the entrance, though it can’t control the room’s temperature or block light from the front. Not the best choice if you need a fully enclosed cover, a fit for a different crate size, or protection from sustained outdoor weather.

Box contents

The set includes the crate cover, cushioned mat, and padded bumper. The product description says the cover, mat, and bumper are machine washable, air-drying is specified. The waterproof lining belongs to the cover, while the mat and bumper are described as water-resistant, so don’t assume every piece provides the same level of spill protection.

Questions before you buy

Will it fit any 24-inch crate? It’s intended for a crate measuring 24" L x 18" W x 20" H. Check those dimensions against your wire crate rather than relying on the 24-inch label alone.

Can it be used outside? The cover is described as splash-proof for sheltered areas such as a porch or balcony. The information doesn’t establish protection for exposed or prolonged outdoor use.

Can you wash the pieces separately? The mat and bumper are removable, and all three pieces are machine washable. Air-dry them after washing.

Buying verdict

On the spec sheet, this is a practical choice if your priority is adding a softer, more den-like feel without covering the crate entrance. The separate mat and bumper make cleaning and access more manageable than a one-piece padded setup, while the lining adds a useful layer against accidents. The main limitation is the specific 24" L x 18" W x 20" H fit, along with the fact that only the cover has a waterproof lining. Choose it for a matching wire crate in an indoor or sheltered spot, look for a different setup if you need a closed front or dependable weather protection.
