Coquimbo GZD-001 2-Pack Rechargeable Work Lights with Magnetic Base and Hook

For car repairs and other close-up tasks, these lights are designed to put illumination near the work while leaving your hands free. The Coquimbo GZD-001 comes as a two-light set. Each light has a magnetic base, a hook, and a folding design that rotates for different angles. Five modes include three white-light settings and two red-light settings.

Usage tips

Use the magnetic base to attach a light to a suitable metal surface, or hang it from the built-in hook when that placement works better. The rotating, folding body lets you direct the beam toward an engine bay, a workbench, or another nearby task instead of holding a flashlight throughout. For a small repair at night, one light can illuminate the work area while the other is positioned nearby as extra light.

The modes cover high and medium brightness, a front light, red warning light, and red strobe. The listing says to hold the switch for three seconds to change to the red modes. Two USB cables are included, but the battery information deserves attention before relying on the lights for a job: the detailed specifications list an included AA battery, while the product description calls the lights rechargeable and says they charge through a Type-C port.

Why it’s worth it

The useful distinction here is the combination of hands-free placement and multiple ways to direct the light. A basic handheld flashlight is simpler, but it requires a hand or a separate support, the Coquimbo set adds a magnet and hook for situations where you need both hands available. Having two lights can also help when a single beam does not cover both the repair and the surrounding area.

It’s a great fit if you want compact work lights for occasional vehicle checks, household tasks, camping, or other nearby nighttime activities, and value a choice of white and red modes. The listed L-shape and 360-degree beam angle also point to flexible placement rather than a single fixed direction. Buyers’ comments often praise the brightness and usefulness for car work, though those experiences are not uniform.

Worth noting

The battery details conflict within the listing, so the charging method and battery type are not clearly established by the supplied information. Buyer feedback is also mixed on magnetic strength, battery charge retention, and durability. Some appreciate the compact size, while others say the lights feel smaller than expected. That makes the set easier to assess as a portable, task-focused tool than as a light to depend on for long or demanding work without first resolving the battery question.

The product information lists a 90-day manufacturer warranty from the date of purchase. If you need a work light for frequent, extended use, clear runtime and charging specifications may matter more than having two lights in one set. Not the best choice if a confirmed battery setup is essential to your decision.

Should you buy it?

Choose the Coquimbo GZD-001 if the magnetic base, hook, folding design, and five lighting modes match the way you handle occasional repairs or household jobs. The two-light format gives you another source to position nearby, while the red modes add an option beyond standard white illumination. Before buying, weigh the conflicting battery information and the mixed reports about the magnet and long-term reliability against your intended use. For a basic handheld light, those extra mounting features may be unnecessary, for more demanding work, the unclear battery details make a more fully specified alternative worth considering.
