bravokids LCD Writing Tablet, 8.5-Inch

When kids want to draw during a car ride or keep busy while you’re out, paper can mean loose sheets, broken crayons, and a mess to clean up. This 24-pack of bravokids LCD writing tablets offers a reusable surface for doodles, simple learning activities, and quick notes instead. Each board comes with a stylus, and a button clears the screen when it’s time to start again. The main practical catch is that the display relies on ambient light, so it needs a well-lit setting.

Best use cases

The bundle makes the most sense when several children need an activity at once: think a family trip, a classroom activity, or a group gathering where everyone can draw without passing around one pad. At 8.5 inches, each tablet gives kids a compact space for doodling or practicing letters, while the lightweight design is intended to travel in a backpack or handbag. Adults can also use one for a brief note or sketch, though this is a simple writing surface rather than a digital notebook that stores work.

For a car ride, a child can draw with the included stylus, show the picture to a sibling, then press erase and begin again. The lock switch is useful when a drawing needs to stay put for a little longer. Compared with paper and pencils, the reusable format avoids carrying a stack of sheets, compared with a more capable electronic device, it keeps the activity focused on writing and drawing.

Product specs

The set includes 24 LCD writing tablets, each with an 8.5-inch screen and a stylus. The boards are described as colorful and made from plastic with rounded corners. Each is listed as 0.18 inch thick and 3.74 ounces, which supports the portable-use idea without taking up much bag space. The controls are straightforward: draw on the screen, press the erase button to clear it, or use the lock switch to guard against an accidental erase.

The display uses ambient light to show marks, rather than a backlit screen. That means it needs a reasonably bright environment to be easy to see. The product description also mentions a built-in battery, but does not give enough detail here to assess battery replacement or charging arrangements. From the way it is set up, this is best treated as a basic reusable doodle board, not a tablet for saving, sharing, or editing finished work.

Where it shines

Portability and repeat use are the clearest strengths. A tablet that can be tucked into a bag and wiped clean with one button is a practical option for keeping drawing supplies simple, especially when several kids need their own activity. The lock switch adds a small but useful safeguard if a child wants to show a drawing before clearing it. Worth considering if you want a low-fuss alternative to paper for short activities at home, school, or while traveling.

The tradeoff is that visibility depends on the room or surroundings, and the product details don’t describe features for storing drawings. If you need a brighter display, digital files, or more involved creative tools, a more advanced device is a different kind of purchase. It may not suit you if the activity will happen often in dim spaces or if keeping finished artwork is important.

When it makes sense

Choose this set when the 24-board quantity is useful for sharing, and the goal is quick drawing, writing practice, or simple entertainment without repeatedly supplying paper. It is less compelling if you only need one board or expect a feature-rich screen, the bundle’s appeal is having multiple lightweight, reusable surfaces ready for a group. Before choosing it, consider where the kids will use it: a bright car interior or well-lit table fits the stated display requirement better than a dark setting.
