Amico 161 8-Inch LED Recessed Lights, 12-Pack, 5CCT, Dimmable
Product description
A basement remodel, a refreshed kitchen, or a new ceiling layout can benefit from recessed lighting that adapts to the room’s look. This Amico 12-pack uses slim, canless 8-inch downlights for a flush ceiling installation.
Choose from five color temperatures, from 2700K to 5000K, using the switch on the junction box. The lights are also dimmable from 5% to 100%, so you can adjust brightness for different activities and times of day.
Each light is rated at 18W and 1600 lumens. The aluminum fixtures are IC-rated and damp-rated for indoor ceiling applications.
Quick sizing guide
These are 8-inch recessed lights, supplied as a 12-pack. Plan the ceiling layout around the 8-inch fixture size and the required cutout, a 1:1 hole template is provided for marking the opening. Their ultra-thin, canless design is useful when a traditional recessed can is not part of the ceiling plan. The junction box requires at least 2 inches of ceiling space.
They suit a range of indoor areas, including living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, basements, and workspaces. The damp rating also makes them a practical option for indoor areas exposed to moisture, such as bathrooms. For a remodel, they can be installed in an existing ceiling, they also work for new decoration projects.
What stands out
Rather than committing to one fixed light color, set the CCT switch to 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, or 5000K. Warmer settings can suit relaxed living spaces, while cooler settings offer another look for kitchens or work areas. The setting is selected at the junction box, making it possible to choose a consistent tone for the room during installation.
The slim fixture attaches with spring clips after the junction box is connected to the cable. This canless approach avoids the need for a recessed housing and gives the light a flush-mounted appearance. The IC rating allows contact with ceiling insulation, and ETL and FCC certifications are listed for the product.
Buyer feedback commonly highlights bright, even illumination, the selectable color temperatures, and the modern, low-profile look. Fit impressions vary, and some buyers report units failing after 6 to 11 months of use. The manufacturer lists a five-year warranty.
