Ameritex Waterproof Pet Blanket 82 x 82 Inches

Pet hair, damp paws, or an occasional spill can make a favorite sofa or bed feel off-limits to your dog or cat. The Ameritex reversible blanket is designed to add a soft layer between pets and furniture while helping keep most moisture from soaking through. Its two-sided design gives you light gray and gray looks, so you can flip it when you want a change. The listed size is 82 x 82 inches, making the key decision whether that footprint works for the furniture you want to cover.

Where it shines

This cover is aimed at everyday furniture protection, not just at creating a pet nap spot. Spread it across a couch before your cat settles in or over the part of the bed your dog usually claims, and it can help keep fur and moisture away from the upholstery underneath. The soft velvet feel is part of the appeal: it gives your pet a more comfortable place to land than a bare protective sheet, while still serving a practical purpose for the household.

The reversible two-color setup is useful when one side needs a wash or you want the other shade showing. The description identifies minky velvet and coral fleece, though it doesn’t specify which material is on each side. Worth considering if you want a soft, washable layer that can move between a sofa and a bed. If you prioritize a close, tailored fit, if you prefer a purpose-made cover sized to your exact furniture, this blanket’s general square format may be less convenient.

What to know

The product is described as waterproof and intended to prevent almost all types of moisture and liquids from leaking through. That wording is not the same as a promise that every spill, amount, or situation will be contained, so treat it as a furniture-protection layer rather than a reason to leave a wet mess unattended. Its 82 x 82-inch dimensions are the clearest guide to coverage, compare them with the area you want covered, especially if you need the fabric to drape over the sides. The listing doesn’t provide a furniture-specific fit guide, so use your sofa or bed’s usable surface dimensions, without that measurement, coverage is harder to judge.

It may not suit you if you need a fitted protector, want a stated level of liquid testing, or need details about how the two fabrics are arranged. Those points aren’t provided in the product information. A more tailored furniture cover may make more sense when precise coverage matters, while this reversible blanket favors a flexible layer you can place where your pet spends time.

Cleaning & care

The blanket is listed as machine washable. The care directions specify cold water and tumble drying on low, which gives you a straightforward routine after regular use or a mess. Following those instructions is a practical way to keep the cover in rotation, but the available details don’t say how quickly it dries or whether its appearance changes after repeated washing. If easy laundry care is a deciding factor, those stated settings are useful, don’t assume additional care instructions that aren’t listed.

Buying verdict

Choose this Ameritex blanket if you want a reversible, soft-feeling cover for a pet’s usual spot on a bed or sofa and its square dimensions suit the area. It offers a more comfortable, reusable approach than laying down a basic disposable barrier, with two colors and machine-wash care. Pass if you need a fitted shape, full-furniture coverage you can’t confirm from the dimensions, or stronger specifics about waterproof performance. The deciding check is simple: picture where your pet settles, then compare that surface with the blanket’s stated size.
