Ameritex Waterproof Dog Bed Cover

When pets curl up on the couch or settle in for a nap on the bed, this blanket-style cover is meant to add a barrier between them and the furniture. The Ameritex dog bed cover combines a quilted, five-layer construction with a waterproof design and an anti-slip backing. It can be used on sofas, beds, and other furniture, so it suits homes where pets move between favorite resting spots. One detail to keep in mind: the product information gives no dimensions, so you can’t confirm the fit for a particular piece of furniture from the listed details alone.

Technical details

The cover is described as a five-layer quilted fabric with a soft feel, a waterproof layer, and an anti-slip back. The maker says it helps stop almost all types of moisture and liquids from reaching the furniture, that wording leaves room for spills it may not block, so it shouldn’t be treated as an absolute guarantee against every accident. A sanitized protective finish is also described as helping prevent odors. The chemical-free and eco-friendly claims, along with the stated safety for kids and pets, come from the product information rather than independent test details. It is machine washable: use cold water and tumble dry on low.

What it works with

The listed uses include furniture generally, with sofas and beds called out in particular. That makes it a practical format for covering a pet’s usual lounging area without committing to a fitted furniture protector. For example, you could spread it over the spot where your dog tends to nap on the couch, then move it to the bed when your pet settles there instead. The anti-slip backing is intended to help the blanket stay in place, though the description doesn’t specify how it performs on different upholstery or mattress fabrics.

Usage tips

Before buying, compare the cover’s actual dimensions with the surface you want to protect, those measurements aren’t included in the supplied details. That matters if you need full coverage rather than a layer over a favorite seating or sleeping spot. Lay it flat over the area your pet uses, and follow the stated care instructions when it needs cleaning: machine wash cold and tumble dry low. Avoid assuming that the waterproof design makes the underlying furniture safe from every spill, since the claim is for almost all types of moisture and liquids, not all of them.

A solid pick if you want one soft, washable layer for a pet’s usual couch or bed spot and value an anti-slip backing. You may want to skip it if you need confirmed dimensions, a fitted cover, or a guarantee against every kind of liquid leak, those details aren’t established here.

Questions before you buy

Can it go on both a sofa and a bed? Yes. The product information lists furniture generally and specifically mentions sofas and beds.

How should it be washed? Machine wash it in cold water and tumble dry on low, according to the maker.

Does it block every spill? The claim is that it prevents almost all types of moisture and liquids from leaking through, not that it protects against every possible spill.

Final verdict

This Ameritex cover makes sense if your main goal is a movable, washable layer for the furniture your pet already uses. Its five-layer quilted construction, waterproof design, and anti-slip backing address the everyday problem of keeping a pet’s resting spot separate from the upholstery. Compared with a fitted protector, the blanket format offers more flexibility between a couch and a bed, but it also leaves fit dependent on the dimensions—which aren’t provided. Choose it when a general furniture cover is enough, look elsewhere when precise coverage or a stronger, fully specified liquid-protection claim is essential.
