ALORAIR Crawl Space Vapor Barrier, 6 mil, 12' x 100' Black/White Sheeting
Product description
For a crawl space encapsulation project, this ALORAIR vapor barrier provides a wide sheet of polyethylene to cover exposed ground and help reduce moisture vapor migration from the soil. Its 12' x 100' format covers 1,200 square feet, making it useful for large areas where a continuous ground cover is needed.
The black-and-white double-sided film offers vapor resistance on both sides. Black blocks light penetration, while the white surface reflects up to 90% of light to help keep the space brighter.
Getting the most from it
Use the sheeting as a ground cover for crawl space encapsulation, moisture control, and weatherproofing applications. By placing a vapor-resistant layer over the soil, it helps protect foundations, insulation, and structural components from moisture-related damage. It is also suited to radon mitigation applications, greenhouse gardening, and other protective uses.
The 12-foot width and 100-foot roll length provide a practical format for covering a broad area. Plan the layout around the dimensions of the space and the coverage needed, then position the film with the surface that best suits the job: black to block light or white to reflect it. The smooth finish is easy to clean, and the roll arrives in a sturdy cardboard box designed to minimize creasing during handling.

What you’ll notice day to day
A ground barrier can help create a cleaner, more protected crawl space by reducing soil moisture vapor migration toward the foundation and other building components. The film’s reinforced construction and anti-aging additives help it resist tearing during installation and use. Its smooth surface also makes routine cleaning straightforward.
Choosing between a narrower roll and this wider format comes down to the area and layout of the project. For a large crawl space, the 12-foot width offers broad coverage per length of roll, the black-and-white finish adds flexibility when light blocking or reflection is useful. What could the reflective side contribute to the work area? The white surface reflects up to 90% of light, which can help maintain a brighter crawl space environment.
What to clarify
What area does the roll cover? The 12' x 100' sheeting provides 1,200 square feet of coverage.
Can either side face upward? Both sides provide vapor resistance. The black side blocks light, while the white side reflects up to 90% of light, choose the orientation that suits the application.
What projects is this sheeting designed for? Its listed uses include crawl space encapsulation, moisture control, weatherproofing, radon mitigation applications, greenhouse gardening, and other protective applications.
Final verdict
This 6 mil ALORAIR barrier is a practical fit for homeowners, builders, and contractors covering crawl space ground or handling other protective projects. Its 12' x 100' roll, double-sided vapor-resistant design, and light-blocking or reflective surfaces make it especially useful when broad coverage and flexible orientation matter.
