Alesis TEACHERSCHCE61 Teacher's Choice 61-Key Keyboard Bundle with Light-Up Keys

Set up a home practice space with the Alesis Teacher’s Choice 61 and its adjustable stand, padded bench, and headphones. The bundle gives beginners a ready-to-use place to sit down and play.

Its 61 light-up keys work with the Skoove app to provide visual note guidance. Amber, green, and red lights indicate the notes to play, correct notes, and mistakes as you follow a lesson.

Explore 300 built-in sounds, 300 accompaniment rhythms, and 30 demo songs. Layer and Split modes add ways to combine sounds or divide the keyboard for different playing parts.

What stands out

The illuminated keys make app-based practice more visual: connect the keyboard to a compatible iOS or Android device with the included USB-C cable, open Skoove, and follow the on-screen lesson alongside the lights. The included three-month Skoove Premium subscription provides access to interactive lessons and real-time feedback, giving new players a guided way to work through songs and exercises.

There is room to explore beyond lessons, too. Choose from piano, strings, brass, guitar, and synth sounds, or add an accompaniment rhythm to a playing session. Layer and Split modes let you shape how sounds are played across the keyboard. A built-in recorder captures your playing for listening back, while the metronome, adjustable from 40–280 BPM, supports practice with a steady beat.

The essentials

The keyboard has built-in speakers and an LCD control panel for playing and adjusting settings. For quiet practice, connect the included headphones to the 1/8-inch headphone output. The 1/8-inch aux input lets you play along with an external device, and USB-MIDI output connects the keyboard to a computer. A 1/4-inch input is provided for a sustain pedal.

The bundle includes an adjustable stand, padded bench, sheet music/tablet rest, headphones, USB-C cable, and power adapter. Compared with sourcing a keyboard and practice accessories separately, this set brings the main playing setup together in one purchase. The keyboard can also run on six AA batteries for practice away from an outlet, batteries are not included.

How to use it

For app lessons, connect the keyboard to your mobile device using the included USB-C cable, open Skoove, and follow the lesson. The keys light up to help guide note selection, while the app provides lesson feedback. For independent practice, choose a sound, set the metronome if useful, and record a passage to listen back. The headphones provide a straightforward way to practice without using the built-in speakers.
