KEXIN microSDHC memory card 32GB

UHS-I support and a stated read speed of up to 80MB/s make this KEXIN microSDHC card a practical way to add storage for photos, music and video. It has 32GB capacity and is listed for use with devices including cameras, mobiles, tablets, drones and security systems.

The card is Class 10 and U1, with a stated write speed of 20MB/s. Actual performance can vary with the device and conditions.

How to use it

Use it to expand storage in a compatible device: for example, you could save photos on a tablet or use it for Full HD footage in a camera. The 32GB capacity suits everyday files, but it leaves less room for long-term video storage than a higher-capacity card. Its formatted capacity is listed as approximately 29.44GB, so the full 32GB will not be available for your files.

The card uses the microSDHC format and FAT32. Before buying, make sure the device supports microSDHC, a microSD slot alone does not guarantee support for every card format or capacity. Do you mainly need extra space for a modest collection of clips and photos, rather than a card for large video libraries? That distinction matters with this capacity.

Pros

The useful point here is the combination of a small, portable format and stated speeds that should suit ordinary file storage and playback. The read speed is quoted as up to 80MB/s, while the listed write speed is 20MB/s, these figures come from internal testing and may be lower in use. Class 10 and U1 are also stated, giving you clear speed-class details to compare when choosing a card.

KEXIN describes the card as shockproof, waterproof, temperature-resistant, X-ray resistant and magnetic. Those protections may be reassuring for a card carried between devices, but they are maker claims rather than a substitute for backing up important files. Worth considering if you want a straightforward 32GB card for compatible everyday devices. Better avoided if you need substantial space for extended recording or a higher stated write speed.

When it makes sense

This is a sensible fit when a compatible device needs extra space for photos, music or a limited amount of video, and you do not need a large card for frequent, lengthy recording. For instance, it could keep a small set of clips available in an action camera while leaving a larger library on another device. Its compact size also makes it easy to carry as spare storage.

Compared with choosing a higher-capacity card, this one keeps the amount of storage modest, compared with a basic card without stated speed classes, it gives you UHS-I, Class 10 and U1 details to weigh up. Choose it for simple expansion where 32GB is enough. Look elsewhere if your device requires a different format, or if your main priority is keeping many high-resolution videos on the card.
