EVO-STIK Multipurpose Silicone Sealant, Clear, Waterproof and Mould Resistant

Some sealing jobs call for a discreet finish, while others need protection that can handle damp conditions. EVO-STIK Multipurpose Silicone Sealant is clear, waterproof and mould resistant, making it suitable for sealing around fittings and surfaces where a visible coloured line is not the aim.

Its stated suitability for indoor and outdoor use gives it flexibility across household sealing tasks, while the clear finish keeps the surrounding glass, tiles or fittings in view.

Getting the most from it

Choose this sealant for joints on suitable non-porous surfaces where a clear finish is useful. Around a plastic bath or fitting, for example, its waterproof and mould-resistant properties suit the damp conditions, while the transparent colour avoids adding an opaque strip to the surrounding finish. It can also be used with glass, ceramics, stainless steel, vitreous enamel and gloss-painted surfaces.

The sealant contains a fungicide to inhibit mould growth. That makes it a practical choice for areas where moisture is part of everyday use, while its ability to accommodate movement helps it serve at joints rather than as a rigid filler. EVO-STIK states that it does not crack, shrink or discolour and that it lasts up to 25 years.

Compared with a coloured sealant chosen to create a visible border, a clear bead offers a subtler look when you want the existing surface colours and materials to remain the focus. Use the listed surface suitability to guide where it is applied, whether the job is indoors or outdoors.

Included in the pack

The pack contains one EVO-STIK Multipurpose Silicone Sealant in clear. Its multipurpose format suits a range of sealing jobs, so one product can be considered for different listed materials around the home rather than selecting a separate colour for each surface.

Questions before you buy

Can it be used outside as well as indoors? Yes. It is suitable for both interior and exterior use, giving you the option to use the same sealant for appropriate jobs in either setting.

Which surfaces is it suitable for? It is suitable for non-porous surfaces including glass, stainless steel, ceramics, plastic baths and fittings, vitreous enamel and gloss-painted surfaces. The product also has excellent adhesion to most surfaces.

Does it help resist mould? Yes. It is waterproof and mould resistant, and contains a fungicide to inhibit mould growth. This makes it suitable for sealing in areas where damp conditions are common.

Is it worth it?

For household jobs where a clear, waterproof seal is more suitable than a coloured finish, EVO-STIK brings together indoor and outdoor use, mould resistance and suitability for several common non-porous materials. It is particularly useful around fittings and surfaces exposed to moisture, with a discreet finish that lets the surrounding materials remain visible.
