fowong Draft Excluder Tape 8 m for Doors and Windows 🪟

This self-adhesive foam strip seals gaps around doors and windows to reduce draughts, noise and heat loss in the home. It comes as two rolls that together provide a continuous 8 metres of sealing tape, suitable for everyday weatherproofing of interior and exterior frames.

Key Points

The tape sticks with a strong grid-backed adhesive that, according to the manufacturer, resists peeling and keeps the seal in place for extended periods. It is made from high-density foam that offers basic thermal insulation and sound damping, while also providing dust resistance and a degree of shock absorption. For quick fixes and seasonal sealing, the product is ready to cut to size and apply without tools, simplifying installation for DIYers and renters alike. 🛠️

This foam strip also works for a variety of uses beyond doors and windows. It can be applied to kitchen cabinets, bathroom fixtures, or vehicle doors where a narrow, compressible seal is needed. The material tolerates typical household conditions and is described as weather and oil resistant, though prolonged exposure to strong solvents or direct UV may affect longevity. ⚠️

Usage Recommendations

Clean and dry the surface thoroughly before applying the tape for the best adhesion. Press firmly along the strip after placement and allow a short setting time before exposing it to heavy movement. Cut with scissors or a utility knife to match irregular frames, and compress the foam slightly when fitting into narrow gaps to improve contact and sealing performance.

Consider that the thin profile is aimed at small to medium gaps. It may not fully seal very large or heavily uneven spaces, and surfaces with heavy dust, paint flakes or loose material should be prepared for reliable adhesion. For exterior doors exposed to frequent rain or very large temperature swings, combining this tape with a threshold seal or weather bar can give more robust protection. 🧰

Some colour variation and roll tightness may be noticeable on arrival because the strips are wound together for packaging convenience. Expand the rolls gently to access the full length before cutting and installing.
