Applaws Natural Wet Cat Food: Fish Selection in Broth, 70 g Tin, Pack of 12

What it is and who it’s for

Applaws Natural Wet Cat Food is a complementary wet food designed to add flavour and hydration to an adult cat’s diet. It’s crafted with high quality, 100% natural ingredients and a focus on real meat, aiming to be suitable for all adult and mature cats, including fussy eaters. This multipack offers variety across three fish-forward recipes within 12 tins, making it convenient for routine feeding without repeating flavours too soon.

The essentials

On the paper, this range relies on real fish as a main ingredient, with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. A notable claim is that the recipe is rich in protein and uses 75% tuna fillet in at least one variant, plus other fish options to diversify texture and taste. The product is designed to be easy on sensitive stomachs and to aid digestion, while also providing omega-3 fatty acids which can support a healthy coat, skin, and possibly eye health and immune function. Being a wet food, it adds moisture to the diet, which can be helpful for cats that don’t drink much water.

What’s included and how it’s structured

The multipack contains 12 x 70 g tins. Flavour variety is built into the pack with 3 tins each of Tuna Fillet, Tuna with Prawn, Ocean Fish, and Mackerel with Sardines. This structure is useful if you want a gentle rotation to keep meals interesting for a picky eater or to manage different seasonal needs.

Who it’s best for

If you prioritise simple ingredients and genuine meat content, this range may appeal. It’s likely to suit adult cats that benefit from higher protein sources and additional hydration. It can also be convenient for households that want a predictable, non-messy feeding routine with a selection of flavours.

What stands out

On the plus side, the absence of artificial additives and the emphasis on natural ingredients align with many owners’ desire for a straightforward, meat-forward diet. The broad fish selection offers variety without pushing into unusual flavours. The broth component can improve palatability and moisture intake, which is a practical point for cats with dental concerns or higher hydration needs.

Potential limitations

It isn’t a complete, single-source diet by itself, it’s described as complementary wet food intended to be fed alongside dry food for a balanced diet. For cats with particular dietary restrictions or medical conditions, the suitability of any fish-based product depends on the individual cat and veterinary guidance. If your cat has a known allergy to fish or specific fish types, this range may not be ideal.

How to use it

Serve as a portion alongside dry food or as a hydrating meals option. Consider rotating flavours to maintain interest and monitor acceptance, especially for fussy eaters. Always provide fresh water alongside meals.

What to review before buying

Check that the cat’s overall diet remains balanced when mixing wet food with dry food. Consider your cat’s digestive response to fish-rich meals and ensure there is no sensitivity to any included fish varieties. Note that this is sold as a multipack, if you prefer a single flavour or emphasis on a specific fish, this format may feel a touch repetitive over time.
