UGREEN 15231 Micro B to USB-C Hard Drive Cable, 10Gbps, 0.5m

A 10Gbps data-transfer rate makes this UGREEN cable a practical link between a USB-C computer and a Micro-B external drive. Its 0.5m length keeps a desk setup compact. Use it to connect compatible storage or other Micro USB 3.0 devices for data transfer and charging. The USB-C end is for a host device, the Micro-B end connects to the drive or device.

Usage tips

Connect the USB-C plug to a laptop, computer, tablet or hub with a USB-C port, then attach the Micro-B plug to a compatible device. For example, it can connect a USB-C laptop to a portable hard drive when transferring files at a desk. Its short length is suited to keeping nearby devices together, a longer cable may be a better match when the drive needs to sit further from the host.

The Micro-B connector is intended for compatible USB 3.0 Micro-B devices, including external hard-drive enclosures and cameras. The manufacturer also lists portable drives from Toshiba, Seagate, Western Digital and LaCie, along with cameras such as the Nikon D800 and Canon EOS 5D4. Check that the host has a USB-C port and that the device uses Micro-B before connecting. This cable is for indoor use.

Pros

The braided nylon shield and aluminium-alloy connector give the cable a sturdy construction for regular handling. The manufacturer cites more than 40,000 bending tests, a useful detail for a cable that may be connected and packed away repeatedly. At 0.5m, it helps avoid excess cable on a close-set desk, while the stated 10Gbps transfer rate is suited to moving files between compatible devices.

Buyers commonly highlight its build, secure connections and use with external drives, some also mention cameras and transfer speed. These are customer impressions rather than a guarantee of results, but they reflect the cable’s intended everyday role: connecting USB-C hosts to Micro-B storage and peripherals.

This cable is a useful choice when a USB-C laptop or tablet needs a direct connection to a Micro-B external hard drive, camera or other compatible device.
