SONGMICS LSC204B01 Metal Sideboard with Adjustable Shelves, Rustic Brown and Black

Tech summary

The steel frame gives this sideboard a wipe-clean outer surface, while adjustable shelves let you tailor the enclosed storage to different-sized items. Its mix of closed, open and drawer storage is useful when you want everyday essentials accessible without leaving everything on display.

• Type: Freestanding storage cabinet
• Dimensions: 110 x 40 x 76 cm (width x depth x height)
• Material: Steel and chipboard
• Colour: Rustic brown and matte black
• Storage: One drawer, two open compartments and adjustable shelves behind two doors
• Features: Magnetic door closure, pegboard holes and anti-tip attachment
• What’s included: Cabinet, anti-tip attachment, accessory pack and instructions

The layout gives you several ways to organise a room rather than one large cupboard space. The drawer is suited to smaller items such as cutlery, the open compartments keep frequently used things within reach, and the shelves behind the doors can be adjusted for taller or shorter belongings. Pegboard holes provide ventilation and allow hooks to be attached. The product information does not give a load rating, so it does not establish how much weight the top or shelves can safely carry.

What it works with

This cabinet is listed for kitchen use, but its suggested roles also include a coffee station, TV stand and office storage. In a kitchen, the top can hold a coffee maker or microwave, with mugs or other items arranged in the compartments and behind the doors. The dimensions may help you judge whether it will fit along a wall, but allow for the full depth and width when planning its position.

Compared with open shelving, the doors make it easier to keep some contents out of sight, while the two open compartments still offer quick access. That combination suits a shared space where both display and concealed storage are useful. It’s a good fit if you want a single cabinet to handle different kinds of household storage rather than a unit made only for open display.

Practical tips

Plan the storage around the adjustable shelves: measure the items you want to put inside and set the shelf height accordingly. Keep regularly used items in the drawer or open compartments, and use the closed section for belongings you would rather store out of view. The pegboard holes can be used with hooks, though the product details do not specify which hooks are included.

The cabinet is described as easy to wipe clean, which is practical for everyday use in a kitchen or living area. Its steel and chipboard construction combines a metal body with wood-based panels, so it has a different feel from an all-wood sideboard. Assembly instructions and labelled parts are included. Attach the supplied anti-tip fitting to the wall before use, the safety guidance says to secure the unit to help prevent tipping. This is especially important if it will be accessible to children, who should not climb or play on it.

Is it worth it?

The appeal of the SONGMICS LSC204B01 is its mixed storage layout: drawer, open compartments and adjustable shelving sit in one freestanding unit, with magnetic doors and a top surface for additional use. That makes it more adaptable than a basic cupboard with a single fixed interior, while the open sections are handy when you do not want to open a door for every item.

It is worth considering for a kitchen, coffee area, living room or office where that combination of storage types suits the routine. Not the best choice if you need confirmed weight limits for a heavy appliance, as none are provided in the available product details. The wall attachment is part of safe installation, rather than an optional extra to ignore.
