SONGMICS BSC33BK 3-Tier Metal Shelving Unit, Adjustable Shelves, Black

Keep towels and bathroom essentials together, or give kitchen utensils and everyday supplies their own place with the SONGMICS BSC33BK freestanding shelf. Its three metal mesh tiers can be adjusted in height, making it easier to organise items of different sizes within a compact floor-standing design.

The black, industrial-style frame also suits a living room or balcony, where it can hold decorative items or plants. Adjustable feet help the shelf sit steadily on slightly uneven ground, and each tier supports up to 10 kg.

Key points

The BSC33BK combines a steel frame with three mesh shelves in a trapezoidal design. The open mesh keeps stored items visible and easy to reach, while its fine spacing helps small objects stay on the shelves. At 30D x 38W x 72H centimetres, it provides vertical storage without taking up a broad area of floor space.

Shelf heights are adjustable, so you can arrange the levels around the things you need to store rather than working around fixed spacing. That is useful for bathroom bottles and folded towels, or for kitchen utensils and containers of varying sizes. Each tier has a stated maximum load of 10 kg.

Customers highlight straightforward assembly and a sturdy feel. Numbered parts and illustrated instructions are provided, helping make the initial set-up more manageable. If you need more storage later, several matching units can be combined to create additional shelving.

Care & maintenance

Wipe the metal shelf with a damp cloth to keep it clean. During assembly, align the holes on each side of the frame at the same height before fitting a shelf, this keeps the mesh level. The unit requires assembly, and illustrated instructions are included.

Best use cases

In a bathroom, use the tiers to group towels, detergents and other everyday supplies so they are accessible rather than spread across different surfaces. In a kitchen, adjustable spacing helps accommodate utensils and items of different heights. The mesh shelves also suit plants on a balcony or decorative pieces in a living room.

This is a practical choice when adjustable, open storage is more useful than a shelf with fixed levels. For a narrow area that benefits from vertical organisation, the freestanding format keeps the contents together while allowing you to tailor the shelf positions to the items being stored.

Questions before you buy

How much weight can each shelf hold? Each tier has a maximum stated capacity of 10 kg. Distribute items across the shelves with their individual load limits in mind.

Can the shelf heights be changed? Yes. The mesh shelves are adjustable, so you can set the spacing to suit taller or smaller items. Align the frame holes at the same level when assembling each tier.

Does it need assembly, and how should it be cleaned? Assembly is required, with illustrated instructions provided. For routine care, wipe the shelf with a damp cloth.

Buying verdict
