SONGMICS GLR050G01 5-Tier Steel and MDF Shelving Unit, 600 kg Capacity

Organise tools, boxes and equipment in a garage or shed with the SONGMICS GLR050G01 shelving unit. Its five adjustable levels make it easier to arrange items of different heights. The steel frame and MDF shelves provide a practical setup for everyday storage. Need one long rack, or would two separate units work better in your space?

At a glance

Measuring 100 x 50 x 200 cm, this grey shelving unit offers five levels with a maximum static capacity of 120 kg per level and 600 kg in total. The shelves adjust in 5 cm increments, so you can set the spacing around what you need to store, from tool cases to taller containers. Distribute weight evenly across each shelf and keep within the stated static load capacity.

The interlocking, boltless design is intended for straightforward assembly, and the unit can be divided into two separate sections to suit different layouts. Once divided, the sections can also serve as workbenches with storage. That flexibility is useful when one tall rack does not suit the room, or when storage and a work surface need to sit in separate areas. An anti-tip kit is included, secure the unit to the wall before use.

Maintenance

The steel frame has a rust-resistant surface, and the unit is intended for indoor storage areas such as a garage, shed, cellar or utility room. Avoid placing it in high-humidity environments. During assembly, wear work gloves and follow the instructions, once in use, spread stored items evenly over the shelves rather than concentrating their weight in one spot.

Who it’s for

This shelving unit suits anyone looking to organise tools and equipment across several levels, particularly in a garage, shed, warehouse, cellar or utility room. The adjustable spacing helps accommodate a changing mix of stored items, while the option to split the frame gives more choice over how the space is arranged. For example, it can be set up as one tall storage rack for boxed supplies, or divided into two units where a lower work surface and nearby storage are more useful.

Customer feedback describes the shelving as good quality, with some buyers highlighting its sturdy feel. Views on durability are mixed, so it is helpful to follow the assembly and load-distribution guidance when setting it up. Its main practical difference from a fixed, single-layout rack is the combination of adjustable levels and a frame that can be split to suit the room.
