SONGMICS 18KG Hex Dumbbell Set with Stand, Coated Weights and Non-Slip Grips

The hexagonal heads help keep these dumbbells from rolling away between exercises. Three pairs provide different fixed weights for strength sessions at home, while the included stand gives them a dedicated place to go afterwards. The coated, curved handles are designed for a comfortable, non-slip grip. It is a straightforward set-up for varied workouts without adjustable weights.

Why it makes sense

The set contains pairs of 1kg, 3kg and 5kg dumbbells, so you can choose a lighter pair for one movement and a heavier one for another. That makes it easier to vary a home routine than relying on a single pair, and the marked weights and different colours help identify them quickly. The hexagonal shape is useful for floor-based exercises such as renegade rows, where round dumbbells could roll when set down.

A compact metal stand is included to keep the weights together rather than scattered around a room. That suits a home exercise area where storage matters, though the stand’s build is one point to weigh up: buyers’ comments on its sturdiness are mixed, with some finding it stable and others describing it as flimsy. The dumbbells themselves receive more consistently positive comments for their feel and finish.

Key features

The dumbbells have cast-iron cores and a matte coating, with curved neoprene handles intended to feel comfortable and provide a non-slip hold. The handle diameter is 3.8 centimetres. The product information also describes the coating as waterproof, it does not give specific cleaning instructions, so avoid assuming that a particular cleaning method is required or recommended.

For a practical example, the lighter pair could suit controlled arm movements, while the heavier pairs offer options for exercises that call for more resistance. This is a set of fixed weights, rather than an adjustable dumbbell system: the choice between pairs is simple, but each weight remains a separate item to store. Buyers also mention liking the colours and finding the set comfortable to hold, comments on assembly are favourable, although they do not establish that every stand will feel equally sturdy.

Who it’s for

A solid pick if you want several fixed weights for home strength training and value having a stand to organise them. It can suit someone building a routine at their own pace, since the set spans three weights without requiring a changeable mechanism. If you are comparing it with a single pair of dumbbells, the extra weight options offer more variety, if you prefer one adjustable unit with less separate equipment, that is a different approach to consider. It may not suit you if a consistently robust stand is essential, as feedback on its stability is divided.

Practical questions

What weights are included? The set has three pairs: 1kg, 3kg and 5kg.

Why are the dumbbells hexagonal? Their flat-sided heads help prevent them from rolling away when placed on the floor, including during exercises such as renegade rows.

Does the set include storage? Yes. A compact metal stand is included, although buyers have differing views on how sturdy it feels.

Buying verdict

Choose this SONGMICS set if you want three pairs of coated dumbbells, colour-coded for quick selection, with a stand for keeping them organised at home. The non-roll heads and range of fixed weights make it more versatile than buying just one pair. The main consideration is the stand: if its stability matters as much as the weights, take the mixed buyer feedback into account before deciding.
