RUNZI 020 Collapsible Microwave Food Cover, Vented 8.3-Inch Lid

Cover a plate before reheating leftovers to help keep food splashes off the inside of your microwave. The RUNZI 020 has a vented top that lets steam escape, while its built-in finger grip makes it easier to lift after heating.

Its collapsible design presses down for compact storage, so it can be kept in a drawer or cupboard between uses.

What to know

With an 8.3-inch diameter, this round cover is designed for use over plates and bowls. Its perforated top allows steam to escape during heating, while the cover helps contain splashes and makes everyday microwave use tidier. It is microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe, and is described as BPA-free.

The height can be adjusted by collapsing the cover: it extends to 3.1 inches and folds down to 1 inch. That makes it useful for covering food while keeping the cover relatively flat when stored. The finger grip offers a practical point to hold when removing it from a dish.

Best use cases

Use it when reheating a single serving, breakfast food or pastries and you want to keep splatters contained. The vented top is suited to covered microwave heating, allowing steam to pass through rather than leaving the food under a sealed lid. Its round shape and 8.3-inch diameter give you a clear guide when choosing which plate or bowl to cover.

It can also be used as a colander for fruit or vegetables, or as a washing basket and fruit basket. That gives the cover a role beyond reheating, while its collapsible shape helps make storage straightforward when it is not in use.

Customers describe the lid as handy and easy to clean, and appreciate how quickly it collapses for storage. Feedback on size is mixed, so the stated 8.3-inch diameter is the useful measure when matching it to your usual plates and bowls.

Getting the most from it

Place the cover over the dish before heating, with the perforated top facing upwards so steam can escape. Use the finger grip to lift it after heating, and collapse it down to 1 inch when you are ready to put it away. For cleaning, it is dishwasher-safe, it can also be used for washing fruit and vegetables when that suits the task.

Compared with a rigid microwave cover, this collapsible design takes up less height in a drawer or cupboard once folded. It is a practical approach for kitchens where storage space matters as much as having a cover ready for regular reheating.
