Watus 1H1X Water Filter Jug, 3.8 Litres, Blue with Activated Carbon Filter

Some households want a straightforward way to filter drinking water as they pour, others are mainly looking to reduce limescale in water for everyday drinks and appliances. The Watus 1H1X brings those needs together in a blue, 3.8-litre countertop jug with an activated carbon filter cartridge. It is made from polypropylene and comes with one Watus cartridge, so it is ready to use as a jug-and-filter setup.

Use it to keep filtered water close at hand for glasses, hot drinks and everyday kitchen use. Its change-filter indicator helps you keep track of when the cartridge needs attention.

Why it makes sense

Filtering water in a jug is a practical alternative to pouring tap water straight into a glass when you want to reduce chlorine, limescale, lead and copper. The activated carbon cartridge uses coconut-shell carbon, and the filtration is designed to reduce water hardness and help improve the taste of drinking water and drinks.

The jug’s 3.8-litre capacity gives you filtered water for household use in one countertop container. Water used in a kettle or coffee machine can also benefit from reduced limescale, helping limit limescale build-up in those appliances. If you want one jug for both drinking water and the water you use for hot drinks, why keep those tasks separate?

What matters most

The key choice is whether you want a simple jug-based filter for regular kitchen use. This model combines a generous 3.8-litre capacity with filtration aimed at limescale and several named impurities, rather than offering capacity alone. Its blue polypropylene body is designed for countertop placement, keeping the jug accessible for refilling a glass or preparing a drink.

Customer feedback highlights the jug’s size, while views on functionality are mixed: some buyers say it works well, and others report that the filter stops working after a time. That makes the cartridge reminder a useful part of the everyday setup, alongside the stated replacement interval.

Maintenance

The change-filter indicator flashes after four weeks to remind you to replace the cartridge. One cartridge is included, and each cartridge is stated to last for up to four weeks or 180 litres of filtered water. Replacing it at the reminder helps keep the jug’s filtration routine easy to follow without relying on memory. The filter element is also stated to be compatible with BRITA MAXTRA, MAXTRA+ and PerfectFit water filters, which gives you another option when choosing a replacement.
