ROCAM 1009UItra Emergency Radio, 12,000 mAh Power Bank, Solar & Crank

Practical tips

For a camping trip or a power cut at home, the ROCAM 1009UItra brings radio, lighting and emergency signalling together in one portable unit. Its AM/FM/SW radio helps you keep up with broadcasts, while the torch and reading lamp offer useful light when you need it.

Choose the charging method that suits the moment: use USB-C for charging, or turn to solar power and the hand crank when access to a charging point is limited. The radio also has a 12,000 mAh power bank, giving you an additional power option for compatible devices.

If you are packing light, its 172 x 94 x 63 cm dimensions and 522 g weight make it easy to place in a rucksack or emergency bag. The included climbing clasp gives you another way to carry or attach it outdoors.

Where it shines

This radio is designed for situations where staying informed and having practical light matter as much as portability. At a campsite, you can use the radio for AM, FM or shortwave broadcasts, the reading lamp for a nearby task and the torch when moving around in low light. At home during a power cut, the SOS alarm and power bank add functions beyond those of a standard portable radio.

There is a useful distinction between choosing a radio mainly for listening and choosing an emergency unit with several roles. The ROCAM combines broadcast reception with a torch, reading light, clock, SOS alarm and multiple charging options, making it suited to people who want these functions in one compact device rather than carrying separate pieces of kit.
