ThagBrco LLJ01 Cordless Hedge Trimmer, 22-Inch Dual-Action Blade, Brushless Motor
Product description
Choosing a hedge trimmer often comes down to how much control and portability you want for routine yard work. The ThagBrco LLJ01 pairs a cordless design with a 22-inch dual-action blade for shaping shrubs and hedges. Need a tool that works with compatible batteries you already own? Its brushless motor runs at 1600 rpm, and a dual-switch start helps prevent accidental activation.

The dual-action blade cuts in both forward and backward strokes, supporting controlled trimming across common shrubs and hedges. Its stated cutting capacity is suited to branches under 0.6 inch thick. At 1.13 kg, the trimmer offers a lighter, more manageable approach than choosing a larger full-size tool, particularly for shorter shaping sessions around the yard. Buyer feedback is mixed: some say it works well for home projects, while others report intermittent power or concerns about build quality.
What it works with
The LLJ01 is designed for compatibility with DeWalt 20V and 60V batteries. The listed compatible models include DCB204, DCB206, DCB184, DCB609 and DCB606, among others. The battery and charger are not included, so plan to use a compatible battery you already have or obtain one separately. This battery-powered setup avoids a cord running from the trimmer during hedge maintenance and makes the tool practical for moving between shrubs around a yard.
Usage tips
For a tidy result, work along the hedge in measured passes and let the dual-action blade do the cutting in either direction. Its 22-inch length gives you a broad cutting span for shaping established hedges, while the 3/5-inch capacity helps set expectations for branch thickness. For example, it can be used to neaten the outer growth of shrubs or maintain the lines of a garden hedge. Keep the tool steady and use both the power switch and safety switch together, both must be pressed to start cutting. The 1.13 kg weight can also make repositioning the trimmer between sections more manageable.
