RsxPtyxagoros LAT02 Folding Live Animal Trap Cage, Alloy Steel, 30 x 28 x 78 cm

For a stray cat or other small animal around the home, the RsxPtyxagoros LAT02 provides a folding cage trap for indoor or outdoor use. Its alloy-steel construction and enclosed design are intended to hold an animal for live release, while the fold-flat format makes it easier to carry or store than a fixed cage.

The trap measures 30 x 28 x 78 cm and is designed for animals such as cats, squirrels, skunks, moles, groundhogs, armadillos and rabbits. Its setup and release features support practical handling at home or when transporting the folded cage in a vehicle.

Quick overview

The LAT02 uses low-carbon steel wire with medium-frequency welded joints, a spring-powered mechanism and an oblong support frame to help maintain the cage shape. The manufacturer describes the surface as weather- and rust-resistant. A cover guard on top helps protect the handler from contact with an animal inside, while the pedal mechanism’s connecting rod is positioned within the cage to reduce the chance of an animal touching it inadvertently.

Setup is designed to take four steps, going from nearly flat to assembled without tools. That folding construction is useful when a trap needs to be moved between storage and a yard, or carried in a car trunk. Compared with keeping a fixed cage ready in one spot, this format offers a more compact way to store and transport a live trap.

How it fits

Use the cage with bait to attract an animal, then release the captured animal using the extended-distance release tool described for the design. The listed intended uses include stray cats, raccoons, squirrels, skunks, moles, groundhogs, armadillos and rabbits, as well as small dogs. Choose the trap for the animal you are trying to manage and follow applicable local rules for trapping and release.

Buyers often describe the setup as straightforward and report that the trap has worked for them. Opinions vary on size, durability and ease of use, including the release process. These experiences are individual impressions rather than a promise of a particular result, the listed dimensions give a practical reference when deciding whether the cage suits the intended animal.

Tips for day-to-day use

Start by unfolding and assembling the cage using its four-step, tool-free design, then place suitable bait inside. Position it where the target animal is likely to encounter it, and handle the mechanism with care. The guard board and internal connecting rod are designed to make handling safer, and the included release tool is intended to extend the user’s distance during release. Keep the trap accessible so you can attend to a capture and carry out release in line with local requirements.

After use, the folding frame makes the cage easier to put away or transport for another placement. Its stated dimensions of 30 x 28 x 78 cm also help with planning where it will sit, whether that is a yard or an indoor area where a live trap is appropriate.

Is it worth it?

The LAT02 is a practical fit for someone who wants a reusable live-capture cage with a folding design, a tool-free setup and features intended to support safer handling and release. Its range of listed target animals makes it relevant to common home and yard trapping needs, while the compact folded format helps when storage and transport matter. For a planned capture, its strongest advantages are the straightforward assembly and a design built around holding an animal for live release.
