YIXUND Seagrass Foraging Basket Bird Toy with Crinkle Paper and Wooden Pieces

Add a hands-on activity to your bird’s cage with the YIXUND Seagrass Foraging Basket. Its woven basket and mix of chewable, shreddable pieces give small and medium birds more ways to explore during the day.

Hide seed or a favourite bird treat among the basket’s materials to turn snack time into a search. Your bird can also climb, perch, swing and pull out the colourful paper, making this a multi-activity toy rather than a single-purpose chew.

An active hook lets you hang it from the top or side of a pet cage. The basket can also provide a grassy spot for a bird to burrow into or sit in once its contents have been moved around.

Technical overview

Made from natural seagrass, the basket holds colourful crinkly paper, wooden blocks and beads, bamboo fingers, paper, nuts, a honeycomb paper tree, plastic loops and a chain. The varied textures support chewing, pecking, shredding and foraging, while the bright paper and components give birds several things to investigate. Food colouring is used on the coloured elements.

• Dimensions: 10 x 5 x 5 cm
• Weight: 280 g
• Hanging: Active hook for attachment to the top or side of a cage

To make the foraging activity reusable, tuck treats into the basket and put some of the pulled-out paper back in place. This gives your bird another chance to search and investigate. The mix of materials also offers more variety than a simple hanging chew, with opportunities for climbing and perching as well as nibbling.

Compatibility

The toy is intended for small and medium birds, including conures, lovebirds, parakeets and budgies. Hang it from the top or side of the cage to give your bird access to the basket and its different play elements. Choose a position that suits your bird’s usual climbing and exploring habits.

Who it’s for

This basket suits bird owners looking to add foraging and shredding activities to a cage setup. It gives curious birds several ways to stay occupied: they can investigate the contents, pull out paper, chew the wooden and bamboo pieces, or climb onto the basket. Buyers often highlight their birds’ interest in the toy and its size. Opinions on safety are mixed, so keep an eye on how your bird interacts with the assortment of materials.

Before you decide

Can you use the basket for treat-based foraging? Yes. Place seed or a favourite bird treat in the basket so your bird can search through its contents. Paper pulled out during play can be put back to create another foraging session.

How does the toy attach to a cage? It has an active hook for hanging from the top or side of a pet cage, making it straightforward to position within the bird’s habitat.

Can a bird do more than chew it? Yes. The basket is designed for activities such as climbing, hanging, swinging, shredding and perching, as well as chewing and exploring its contents.
