ROCAM CR1030 Emergency Radio, 12,000mAh, Solar, Hand Crank & NOAA

At 17.3 × 7.4 × 12 cm, the ROCAM CR1030 brings radio, lighting and an SOS alarm together in a portable plastic body. Its AM, FM and NOAA weather-band reception suits both everyday listening and emergency updates. Solar and hand-crank charging give you options when you’re away from a USB-C power source. A built-in flashlight and reading lamp add useful light for camp or a power outage.

Key features

The 12,000mAh battery capacity is paired with an 8500mm² solar panel and a hand crank rated at 650mA. The radio also supports USB-C and AAA batteries, so you can choose from several power sources to suit where you’re using it. That flexibility is useful for keeping a radio available at home or packing one for a camping trip.

Tune in to AM, FM or NOAA weather bands for broadcasts and weather information. The built-in 5W flashlight helps light your way, while the reading lamp provides a separate light for close-up tasks. For emergency signalling, the radio has a 120dB SOS alarm. Combining these functions in one device can simplify a camp kit or a home emergency supply compared with packing a separate radio, flashlight and alarm.

Customer feedback highlights the radio’s portability and clear sound, and some buyers appreciate having multiple charging options. A few describe the sound as low-fi, so expectations may vary depending on listening preference. The compact dimensions make it practical to keep on hand or pack with other essentials.

Getting the most from it

Choose a power source that fits the situation: USB-C for charging access, or solar, hand-crank and AAA options when those suit your setup. For a planned outing, you can pack the radio with its included hand strap and buckle, then use the flashlight or reading lamp as needed. At home, keeping it with emergency supplies puts radio reception, lighting and the SOS alarm together in one place.

The package includes a USB cable and owner’s manual alongside the hand strap and buckle. Use the controls and charging options according to the manual, and select AM, FM or NOAA based on the broadcast you want to hear.

Who it’s for

This radio is suited to campers, travellers and households looking for a portable way to access radio broadcasts and keep lighting close at hand. The weather bands and SOS alarm make it relevant to emergency kits, while the flashlight and reading lamp serve practical tasks in a tent or during an outage. Worth considering if you want several functions and charging methods in one device rather than carrying each item separately.
