Mooyran TYD-YHY-001 Astronaut Star Projector with 360° Head and Timer

Where it shines

For kids and adults who want a starry backdrop in a bedroom or game room, the Mooyran TYD-YHY-001 projects colourful nebula patterns and flashing stars across the ceiling and walls. Its astronaut design adds a decorative touch when the projector is off, while the display brings a space-themed atmosphere to bedtime, relaxing evenings or a home get-together.

A simple bedside light is suited to everyday illumination, this projector is for creating a more immersive room setting. The magnetic head rotates 360° so you can direct the projection where it works best, and the detachable lunar base and movable arms let the astronaut sit as a playful display piece.

What matters most

Choose between nebula and starry-sky patterns, or combine them for a layered projection. The included remote lets you adjust the pattern, brightness and rotation speed, giving you options to tailor the look to a quiet wind-down or a more vivid room display. Controls on the back also let you power the projector on, switch modes and turn it off with a long press.

A 45- or 90-minute timer can switch the light off automatically, making it practical to set before settling in for the night. It uses corded electric power and is designed for tabletop mounting. The power cable is included, the power adapter is not. The remote requires 2 AAA batteries, which are also not included.

Everyday use

Set the projector on a table or bedside surface, angle its head towards the wall or ceiling, then choose a pattern and brightness with the remote. For a calmer bedtime setting, the timer helps avoid leaving the projection on all night. In a game room or living room, combining star and nebula effects gives the space a more colourful focal point without needing to rearrange the room.

Buyers often describe the light as entertaining for children and families. Feedback on operation is mixed, with some buyers reporting that the nebula rotation stops working after a few weeks. That distinction is useful when choosing between a decorative projection light and a conventional night light: this model’s appeal is its moving, space-themed display.

Practical questions

Can the projection be aimed at a wall as well as a ceiling? Yes. The astronaut’s magnetic head adjusts through 360°, so you can direct the nebula and stars towards a wall or ceiling.

Can the stars and nebula be used together? Yes. The star and nebula patterns can be selected individually or combined, with brightness and rotation speed adjustable using the included remote.

How does the automatic shut-off work? Set the timer for 45 or 90 minutes and the projector will switch off automatically when the selected time ends.

Should you buy it?

The Mooyran TYD-YHY-001 is suited to anyone looking for more than a basic bedside light: it pairs an adjustable astronaut design with colourful star and nebula projections, remote adjustments and a timed shut-off. It makes a practical choice for adding a space-inspired focal point to a child’s bedroom, a game room or a relaxing evening at home.
