Lockport 01 Gaffers Tape, 2-Inch x 30-Yard, Black, 6-Pack

For stage crews, photographers and production teams who need to secure cables or keep props in place, Lockport 01 Gaffers Tape offers a matte black finish in a six-roll pack. Its non-reflective surface helps keep tape less noticeable under stage and camera lighting. Need a clean look as well as a quick application? The tape tears by hand and is designed to leave no residue.

Usage tips

Use it to secure cables, mark or hold props, and manage equipment for indoor concerts, shows, conferences, video shoots and photography setups. The black finish also suits backdrop work when you want tape to draw less attention in the frame. For an even application, press the tape onto a clean, dry surface, the manufacturer recommends surfaces that are non-porous and free from dust, oil and other contaminants. It is listed for use on materials including glass, metal, plastic, tile, wood, concrete and fabric, as well as surfaces such as drywall and automotive trim.

Tear off the length you need by hand, then apply it horizontally or vertically to suit the setup. For temporary cable management between a camera position and a set, for example, the matte finish helps keep the tape visually discreet while its single-sided adhesive holds the cable in place. The tape is waterproof, making it useful where water resistance is relevant to the task.

Why it makes sense

A six-roll pack gives production teams tape on hand for several work areas, from cable runs to props and backdrop adjustments. The 2-inch width provides a broad strip for securing gear, while the matte black finish is suited to environments where reflective tape could attract attention. Hand tearing makes it practical to cut lengths as you work, without stopping to find a cutting tool.

Compared with choosing tape mainly for a bright, visible finish, this option is designed for discreet placement in photography, filming and live-event settings. It is also described as residue-free, a useful consideration when taping equipment or venue surfaces. Buyer feedback is mixed, however: some customers praise its grip, while others report concerns about adhesion, residue, durability or ease of tearing. Applying it to a clean, dry surface follows the manufacturer's guidance and supports a more dependable setup.
