Kenmore Intuition BU4050 Bagged Upright Vacuum with Hair Eliminator Brushroll

For homes that need one vacuum for carpets, hard floors and pet hair, the Kenmore Intuition BU4050 combines an upright cleaner with a lift-up pod for above-floor tasks. Could a single brushroll help make hair cleanup simpler? Its Hair Eliminator feature automatically removes hair from the brushroll, while swivel steering helps guide the full-size vacuum around the room.

Pros

The Hair Eliminator brushroll is designed to clear hair automatically, a practical feature for households where fur tends to collect around the floor head. For stairs, upholstery and other above-floor areas, press the lift-up control to switch to a lighter pod. The included Pet Handi-Mate, upholstery tool, crevice tool and dusting brush support different cleaning tasks without relying on the main floor head for every surface.

Bagged collection keeps dust and debris contained during disposal. The no-touch bag system uses self-sealing bags, so changing a full bag is a cleaner, more hands-free step than emptying a dust cup. Its double-wall PowerFlow bag design is intended to maintain airflow as the bag fills, and the sealed HEPA system traps 99.97% of dust inside the vacuum. LED headlights help illuminate the floor ahead as you clean.

Buyers often praise its cleaning effectiveness, suction and manoeuvrability. Feedback is more varied on weight, durability and noise, so individual impressions differ. The combination of a powered upright, lift-up pod and bagged system offers a different approach from a simpler floor-only vacuum: it brings floor cleaning and above-floor tools together in one unit.

Best use cases

Use the upright floor head for carpet and hard-floor cleaning, then switch to the lift-up pod for stairs or above-floor surfaces such as upholstery. The Pet Handi-Mate adds a dedicated tool for pet-related cleaning, while the crevice and dusting attachments help reach edges and other areas that are awkward for a wide floor head. In a typical home-cleaning session, the pod can handle the stairs and furniture after the main floors, keeping both tasks within the same vacuum setup.

The two-speed design gives you a choice of settings, and the headlight helps make the cleaning path easier to see. For shoppers comparing a bagged upright with a dust-cup model, this Kenmore pairs contained, self-sealing bag disposal with lift-up portability and attachments for multiple surfaces. Four HEPA dust bags are included to get started.

Final verdict

The Kenmore Intuition BU4050 is a practical fit for homes that want a bagged upright for carpets and hard floors, plus a quick way to clean stairs and upholstery. Its automatic hair-removal brushroll, sealed HEPA system, self-sealing bags and included pet tool make it especially useful when everyday floor care also means managing pet hair and above-floor dust.
