ipoul ipoul-003-string-linen A5 Linen Notebook, Green, Lay-Flat Hardcover

Some notebooks are best when the page stays open and writing stays orderly, others suit people who want blank space for freeform work. This ipoul A5 notebook is built around lined pages, a lay-flat design and a few practical details for keeping writing materials together.

Its green linen hardcover has an elastic closure, a pen loop and a silk ribbon bookmark. The lined pages are intended for notes, lists and journal entries, while the compact A5 format is described as easy to carry in a bag.

Would the ruled layout suit the way you write? The 8mm spacing offers a clear guide for written work, but those lines will remain visible if you prefer an unstructured page.

Usage tips

The combination of a hardcover and elastic closure makes this notebook suited to carrying between a desk, class or a café, with the closure helping keep it shut in a bag. The pen loop gives a pen a designated place, and the ribbon bookmark can mark a current entry or section. These features are useful if you want a journal that is ready to pick up without keeping separate accessories together.

The lay-flat binding is intended to provide a continuous writing surface across the open notebook. That can be helpful for longer entries or when you want to write across a spread without holding the pages down. The ruled format also makes it a natural fit for lists, meeting notes and everyday journalling, a blank-page notebook may be a better match for drawing or layouts where ruling would get in the way.

Strengths

The main appeal is the practical mix of features rather than a single specialist function. The linen cover gives it a distinct finish, while the closure, pen loop and ribbon bookmark each have a clear day-to-day purpose. With 200 pages and 80gsm paper described as resistant to ink bleed-through, it is set up for regular writing and double-sided use. The 8mm ruling provides consistent spacing for notes and lists.

You’ll like it if you want a portable, lined journal with a hardcover and built-in ways to keep it closed and marked. It’s not for you if you specifically need blank pages for unrestricted sketches or page designs, the listed format is ruled. The paper is described as resisting bleed-through, not as preventing it with every pen or ink, so that claim should not be treated as a guarantee for all writing tools.

What helps keep it ready to carry? The notebook has an integrated elastic closure and pen loop, plus a silk ribbon bookmark for marking a place.

Is it worth it?

This notebook is a considered choice for everyday journalling, school or work notes when you want ruled pages and useful carry-along details in one format. Its 200 pages, linen hardcover and lay-flat binding give it more structure than a basic pad, while the elastic and pen loop support use on the move. Choose it for organised writing and a portable journal, if your priority is an open-ended sketchbook or unlined pages, a different page format will suit that work better.
