Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits YAM-5-07-208 Kreature Soft Plastic Bait, 4-inch, 7-Pack

Anglers choosing between a subtle presentation and a larger, more animated soft plastic may find the Kreature’s distinctive profile useful. Its swimming arms, side flaps and trailing tentacles are designed to move as the bait falls and through the water.

This is the 4-inch version in Watermelon with Black & Red Flake, supplied in a seven-pack. The soft-plastic bait can be fished on its own or used as a trailer, giving it more than one role in a tackle selection.

The intended appeal is versatility across several setups, rather than a single-rig design. The right choice depends on whether its larger profile and movement suit the cover and presentation you want to fish.

Tips for day-to-day use

The Kreature is described for flipping and pitching, and for fishing over brush piles, stumps and grass clumps on a Free rig. Those settings make its arms and loose tentacles relevant: the bait is intended to create movement as it glides on the fall, rather than relying on a plain, compact shape. A practical use is to pitch it around cover and let the fall do part of the work, adjusting the rig to the conditions and your preferred approach.

It can also be fished Texas-rigged in cover or on a Carolina rig away from the bank. As a standalone plastic, it gives the bait its own profile, as a trailer, it adds that same moving silhouette to another setup. This makes it worth considering if you like to change rigging approach without switching to a different style of soft plastic. The listing does not specify hook size or rigging components, so those choices remain separate from the seven baits in the pack.

Why it’s worth it

The main buying case is the combination of a 4-inch body and multiple moving elements. The front arms begin near the top, while the rear forms a free-flowing tentacle skirt and the sides have flaps intended to move water. Together, these features set it apart from a simpler soft plastic with a less active profile. The product description also says the bait is salt-loaded, though it does not provide a quantity or further detail about that formulation.

Having both standalone and trailer uses can make the pack more adaptable across fishing situations. A solid pick if you want one soft-plastic bait that can be tried on Free, Texas and Carolina rigs, or added as a trailer. Its pronounced profile is a specific design choice, not a claim that it will suit every presentation.

Highlights

The colour is Watermelon with Black & Red Flake, and the material is plastic. That gives a clear description of the variant without implying how it will perform in particular water or light conditions. The pack contains seven baits, so there are multiple pieces for rigging and fishing sessions, no hook or other rigging hardware is listed as included.

The maker positions the Kreature for both cover-oriented flipping and pitching and more open-water Carolina-rig use. Compared with choosing a narrowly specified bait for just one technique, this one offers several suggested setups, but the listing does not provide comparative catch data. It’s not for you if you specifically want a compact, low-profile finesse bait: this model is described as big-profiled despite its 4-inch size.

Is it worth it?

The Kreature is worth considering when movement on the fall, a tentacled silhouette and flexible rigging options matter more than a minimal profile. Its stated uses are specific enough to guide a purchase: try it as a standalone plastic around cover or on a Carolina rig, or use it as a trailer. The watermelon colour with black and red flake also identifies the exact version, rather than leaving the choice at the bait’s shape alone.

Choose it if that larger, active presentation fits the way you fish and you want a seven-pack that can serve more than one role. If your priority is a subtle finesse-style profile, the Kreature’s described design points to a different approach.
