ECOWITT WS2320BU Wi-Fi Weather Station with 7-in-1 Solar Sensor

A quick glance at local conditions may be all you need, keeping a fuller record is different. The ECOWITT WS2320BU brings indoor and outdoor readings together on an LCD console.

Its wireless 7-in-1 outdoor sensor uses a built-in solar panel and measures temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed and direction, light and UV.

Use the console for live readings at home, or configure Wi-Fi to view data in the Ecowitt or WS View Plus app and upload it to supported online weather services.

The essentials

The outdoor sensor combines several weather measurements in one unit, while the console adds indoor temperature, humidity and barometric pressure. The display also presents rainfall totals, wind chill, heat index, dew point, UV index, solar radiation, moon phase and a barometer-based forecast. Maximum and minimum readings, with timestamps, help you see how conditions have changed rather than relying on a single snapshot.

For day-to-day use, the large LCD makes the station’s information available in one place, with adjustable brightness. The sensor reports at 16-second intervals, and its 915 MHz wireless signal sends readings to the console. The outdoor sensor can draw power from its solar panel or use batteries, the console is powered by its DC adapter or batteries for backup. Wi-Fi operation requires the console’s external power adapter to be connected.

Getting the most from it

Start with the console for a clear local view of conditions, then configure its Wi-Fi connection if you want to check readings through the app or share them online. The station can upload data to services including Ecowitt Weather, Weather Underground, Weather Cloud and WOW, as well as compatible custom websites. This gives home and garden monitoring a path from an at-a-glance display to online weather records.

For computer-based monitoring, the WS2320 also supports downloadable PC software for settings, daily and overall maximum/minimum values, rainfall totals, and tabular or graph records. The software is listed for Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10. The sensor is designed for mounting outdoors, so place it where its readings can represent the garden or surrounding area.

Best use cases

For garden care, the combination of rainfall, wind, temperature, humidity, light and UV readings provides useful local context when planning outdoor tasks. At home, the console keeps indoor temperature, humidity and pressure alongside outdoor conditions, making it practical to check changing weather without relying only on a general forecast.

If you mainly want a simple room thermometer or a single outdoor reading, a more focused device may suit that need. The WS2320 is better suited to people who want several weather measurements from one outdoor sensor, plus the choice of a local display, app access and computer records. For example, before spending time outside, you can check current wind, rain and temperature on the console, then use the app or uploaded data when away from home.

Buying verdict

Choose the ECOWITT WS2320BU for a home or garden weather setup that combines a 7-in-1 solar-powered outdoor sensor with detailed indoor and outdoor readings. Its LCD console makes local checks straightforward, while Wi-Fi and PC software add ways to view, share and review weather data.
